The other day, when I visited Biei for the first time in two years, I suddenly searched for Kunpusha out of nostalgia.I was shocked to find out that it was closed. .I was even more shocked to see in the reviews that the restaurant was closed due to the death of the owner. .I had visited there on a solo trip about 25 years ago, and the following year I took my mother to stay there. At Kunpusha, which was run by a wonderful couple, I was moved by the combination of a very calm atmosphere, delicious dishes made with vegetables grown in the garden, and the sound of the piano played by the wife. Those memories still remain in my heart. It was a precious place where I could spend time and feel refreshed from my tired body and mind.I pray that your husband may rest in peace.

A long-established pension in Biei. Once I stayed there, I found the laid-back feel and the sense of neglect in a good way to be comfortable, and I always stay here. The owner was very kind when I spoke to him, and he even told me about recommended driving routes, places to see, and hot springs. Until now, there were other guests and we didn't really talk to each other, but due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, we were able to spend a more relaxed time in a private room.My favorite time is spending time on the deck or in the dining room before dinner. While waiting for it to be completed, I sat around and read. Personally, I like to take a bath (most likely the best bath!) before meals, and once I feel refreshed, I go to the dining room and have a beer first.During dinner and breakfast, high-quality music is played from carefully selected speakers, creating an even more adult atmosphere. At the end, the owner asked me to play my favorite CD and listen to it, so I could relax. A famous pension that has been featured in various magazines. It's strange because even though it's not a full service, it's calming. I would like to come someday in the winter.

A pension in a peaceful field. The atmosphere is a little different from the hill town of Biei. The food was delicious and I was able to relax.

I have called several times. My favorite inn in Furano/Biei.I stayed there once and fell in love with this relaxing time. It's been here ever since. We recommend visiting on weekdays during the off-season (winter). The number of guests is small and there is a high possibility that it will be reserved exclusively. You can relax by the fireplace. From the terrace at sunset, you can see the Daisetsu Mountains turning from pink to lavender. The stars begin to twinkle. The food was homemade and delicious. There seem to be several types of rooms depending on the number of people.Even the smallest room type had large windows and didn't feel cramped. However, it would be nice if there was more space for luggage and clothes hangers. That area may feel small for some people. There are two large baths that can be reserved for private use.The bathtub and washing area are large, and the windows are wide, so I enter with the lights off and the blinds open.Watercress grows in the stream that runs right next to it.If the snow is calm, it's suitable for a short walk.
