I went to check in in late August. This is a great inn that has been renovated from an old private house. There are not many rooms. Each room has an indoor + outdoor private bath. The large baths in the hotel are also all Japanese-style baths. , you can bathe alone, as a couple, or as a family. There is a stream next to the hotel. The park and the courtyard of the room are full of maple trees. The scenery is quite beautiful. The hardware of the hotel is well maintained. You can feel that the hotel owner is very careful in maintaining it. You can see the exquisite texture in many corners of the store. There is an old lady wearing a kimono in the lobby saying good morning to everyone. She seems to be the owner. It is like a scene seen in Japanese dramas. The staff are very enthusiastic and the service is fast. He patiently and listened to help guests solve their problems. The meals were very unique. We sat around the fire to dine. The Hida beef steak for dinner was of extremely high quality. The breakfast was rich and delicious. I highly recommend it! This hotel only accepts reservations from people over 14 years old, please note.

I repeat it many timesIt's stylish and has a proper atmosphere, and it's a parade of great taste. The food is also very good. Not only the Hida beef, but also the mountain bounty and mushroom miso soup. It's a taste that I can't reproduce myself, and I can only eat it here, so I want to go back again.Staff training is also PERFECTThe price is not cheap as it offers such a great deal, but it is a representative inn in Hida that you should visit and stay at at least once.

I went on a family trip when I returned to Japan for a while ☺️The staff and the atmosphere were wonderful, and I realized once again how wonderful Japan is. Since there seemed to be a lot of foreign customers, I was impressed by the fact that there was English written on the back of the rice menu. For rice, I changed to the Hida beef course (?) and ate a lot of meat. I had so much meat that I couldn't finish it for dinner, so when I told the staff, they served me the leftover meat for breakfast, which was very helpful 😂🙏I was worried about the weather since I visited during the rainy season, but thankfully the weather was nice and I was able to take a walk around the area. Apparently they also have a morning market, so I think it would be a good idea to check it out.It was a great return home. I'll visit you again 😊

10/10 stay at Kakurean. It was perfect. So beautiful during momiji season, at night you can see the stars too. Food was very delicious and portions were very generous. The rooms were well kept and very relaxing. As for service, all the staff were very kind and warm, the elder lady boss who manages this place was also very friendly and spoke to us for a bit. If you come to takayama you have to visit this ryokan! If you go to Takayama, please come here Masu. The food, service, room, and atmosphere were all great. I want to go there once too.

My honest opinion was that it was good for the price.I made a reservation a long time ago and was really looking forward to it...Did this inn really get a Michelin star?I guess it can't be helped since it's an open-air bath, but...I took a soak in the guest room's open-air bath as soon as I arrived at the room, but it was dirty!I was told in advance that the ingredients I don't like are mushrooms and eggplant, but I guess they had forgotten about them in the morning. So, I had told them in advance that I could not eat eggplant or mushrooms, so they didn't serve dinner. When I told him about it, he just asked me about mushrooms without checking on the spot, right? Can I ask you to confirm it before speaking? The trimming of the meat was also delicate. The other vegetables and river fish were carefully cooked and delicious.I don't think I will come again next time.

First of all, it was a wonderful inn. I was able to talk to the landlady before the meal, and the hospitality of the staff and the room were great. Thank you for accommodating us on such short notice.

I was impressed by the deliciousness of the rice for both dinner and breakfast. Each dish was elaborately prepared, simple and gentle, served in beautiful bowls and displayed in a colorful array that was a feast for both the stomach and the eyes. It was a great stay.I also felt that the staff were considerate. The hot spring in the room was also nice.

Great quiet and remote location in the mountains, though easily reached via bus from Takayama station. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the bus station at the foot of the hill. Amazing and attentive service. We forgot the backpack on the bus but they tracked it down and organized a hand over at the bus station an hour later. Breathtaking scenery and private hot spring baths. Delicious food out of this world. Dinner seating around an indoor fireplace with lava stone pan or hot pot, hanging stove for soup and little fire for dishes like fish on a stick. Overall, an otherworldly and amazing ryokan/onsen experience.
