Rising Sun is fantastic. Gonzo and Yuka are excellent hosts. The building is new and we could feel the energy they put into the design and upkeep right away. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with everything we needed for a week of backcountry skiing, including a washer/dryer in the room. The cooking is delicious. The bar and rooms have a beautiful view of farmland and the national park, and the wood stove warmed us up at the bar while we enjoyed a variety of Japanese Whiskeys, sake, and beer after dinner. It was a very special place for us to experience central Hokkaido for the first time.

Loved our recent stay at Gonzo and Yuka’s Rising Sun! Perfect quiet location as a base for a ski/backcountry ski trip in the Furano area (you’ll need to have a vehicle to move between places if you stay here, but well worth it!). The place is carefully designed to make guests feel at home and the attention to detail is second to none. The breakfasts were my favorites and loved the variety served every day. Our dinners were experiences more than just meals, and we got toroll our own sushi and make takoyaki! The rooms are cozy and highly functional with washer/dryer, smart TV and mini fridge. Really appreciated Gonzo and Yuka’s patience and willingness to teach me some Japanese every day. Hope to be back in the future!

This place is truly one of a kind. Absolutely blew me away. Yuka and Gonzo are the couple who own and run it and they are incredible. The food served was amazing. The attention to detail on every single plate served, made every meal super fun. And, I’m extremely picky with food. They are just so accommodating. The rooms were super clean and adorable. I had my own bathroom, shower AND washer/dryer combo. I could go on and about how much I love this place. I HIGHLY recommend staying here. You won’t regret it.

You will be welcomed by a pleasant owner with a nice atmosphere.I could feel the owner's dedication to everything, including the wood-burning stove and chairs at the entrance, and I was able to spend a very quality time there.The bar at night had a variety of drinks and was fun to talk to.For breakfast, the homemade English muffins were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed them.thank you very much.
