I stayed here for several nights during a heavy snowy winter. Although the meal plan was modest, it was enough and the hot springs were excellent. There's no special service, but it's probably the best in terms of cost-effectiveness.

I used it the day before my trip to Kamikochi.Since we were traveling with two girls, we went for a modest plan, but we had so much Hida beef, sashimi, tempura, and salt-grilled rock fish soba that we couldn't finish it all...and it was all delicious!It was a very nice and kind accommodation, and they let me leave my car while I was in Kamikochi.

I chose a small inn as cheap as possible.The service, the food, and the smiling face of the owner were great.It's an old inn, but it's well kept.It may have been a coincidence, but there weren't many people there, and I was impressed by the fact that no matter how many times I used the hot water, it was private.I refrained from having breakfast because I was leaving early in the morning, but they prepared a lunch box for me around 5 a.m. It even contained candy and a handwritten letter.I was deeply moved by their heartfelt hospitality!Even though it's late July, the mornings are chilly and it's a perfect summer getaway.The Hirayu Onsen bus bound for Kamikochi is also nearby. It was helpful for me to leave my car with me until I returned to Kamikochi.I took a walk in the evening and found the perfect hideaway in a hot springs area where the smell of sulfur filled me and made me want to stay for several nights.

The faint scent of the hot springs enters the room. The nights in mid-July are cool without an air conditioner.Onsen Musume Hirayu Mitsuba has a collaboration plan that allows you to travel as a single at a reasonable price. There are private baths available for use at the hot springs, but there is no washing area. The washing area is in the bathing facility downstairs.

Great customer service, great cosy place. Pro tip: if you stay here and going to Kamikochi, you'd ask if you'd park here for the day (save 600 yen for driving to bus terminal parking lot). It is 5 minute walk from hotel to the Hirayu onsen station!
