This place is fantastic! One of the most memorable places I've ever stayed in. I feel sad to have had to leave. Three of us stayed in the Deluxe Room and slept so well on traditional futons. Breakfast each morning was peaceful and nourishing. Our host and other staff were kind and helpful throughout. If you want to stay in a Ryokan - this is the place!

Location was great. The bathrooms were not clean and smelled bad. It was a hassle to have to put on four different types of shoes to get to your room. However, the garden was nice and very relaxing.

Such an amazing place to stay! They’ve done a great job transforming this traditional townhouse into a small hotel, maintaining its charm but also rendering it cozy and convenient. Book the deluxe room if you can. The staff is very lovely and helpful and we loved the neighborhood, not too busy with tourists but with lots of things to explore. 🎏🧡

The boss and the sister who cooks are very kind. The breakfast is really delicious, especially the rice is cooked very well. The neighborhood is really quiet, which is a bit unbelievable. It’s very comfortable to sit on the kotatsu table in winter. If it’s too cold, you can go to the nearby Funaoka Onsen to experience the Japanese sentient bath. If you get up early around 6 or 7 o’clock, you can go for a walk to the Funaoka Shrine. The whole scene is very open. Small disadvantage: It is a small distance from the city. You must find a luggage home delivery company or take a taxi to avoid being looked at by locals if you bring large luggage on the bus.

Stayed in a 2-preson dorm room, it is basic but full of style. it is clean and cozy, the building itself is beautiful. However the wall of the dorm room is too thin and I hear noise from the neighbors. Shower room is great and they offer bathe too. Breakfast is the traditional one, it is expensive so just try once is enough. Everything is good but I will experience other guesthouse next time as Kyoto is so huge to visit.
