Absolute satisfaction for us. The rooms were perfect in terms of equipment and size. It was a bit inconvenient that if we wanted to go to the toilet or the shower, we had to walk up the stairs, as it is a shared space, but at least we could still move. Before arriving, I read that some people thought the futon was thin and similar, but I personally slept better than a hotel bed. The staff is pleasant and the location is fine, a little worse that there are only bus stops in the vicinity, which used to be crowded at certain times and on some routes, but when you track it, you already know which one to avoid and at what time. So the overall impression was perfect and beautifully traditional.

Guest house Koiya is an astonishing ryokan with antique furniture, great garden and very pleasant staff! Place is clean (cleaning is done every day), girls on reception speaking English and very kind, two pairs of mosquito repellent (you will need them in garden) at the reception and in the living room!In Koiya you also can rent yokata and bicycles (they have 3). I had a ride with bike across the area and visited Fukuoka Onsen (by recommendations from the Koiya’s Guesthouse info book in your room!) with waterfall hot water bath outside of the building (it was unique experience and I happy to see that beautiful onsen).Come to Guesthouse Koiya and you will definitely feel the real Japanese culture and customs!I love this place and hope to visit it again!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🤍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My daughter, who had plans in the area, stayed here for several nights. I couldn't get a single room for one day, so I had to stay in a twin room, so I happened to have a day off, so I decided to stay with him. When you're old enough, you don't often use guesthouses, so it was a really great experience. The guesthouse is a renovated typical Kyoto townhouse with low ceilings, and I have never spent time in such a nostalgic environment. Is it a lamp inn at night? It has a great atmosphere. As a Japanese person like me, I'm impressed, so I'm sure it will be a great experience for people from overseas. It's clean, and there are two toilets and shower rooms. There is a shared living room and kitchen, and a simple breakfast is included. Private rooms have keys and privacy. However, since it is an old townhouse, it creaks when people move. I could hear voices, and although I was able to sleep well, I wasn't able to sleep much at all lol. The pillows were also too expensive.Even with that in mind, the charm of Koiya was wonderful.Thank you for creating wonderful memories. There is a coin parking lot next to the parking lot. It cost 770 yen to leave it overnight. cheap!

The specialty of this store is retro, but when I woke up the next day, I had red bumps all over my body. It was itchy. I guess it was because the bed quilt was not clean. It was troublesome for people who came home late to take a shower. The cicada outside the door kept chirping for 3.4 hours at 6 o'clock in the morning. , the room is too bright when the sun shines in in the morning. It is a one-time experience. It is recommended that the store wash the sheets carefully.

I will stay in a guest room on the first floor in November 2023. The room has an entrance, a living room, and a bedroom. When the sliding door of the living room opens, you will have your own exclusive view of the atrium. It is very peaceful and enjoyable to have breakfast while looking at the atrium. The temperature when I checked in was about 7 degrees C. There was a heater in the room that could be turned on, and there was an electric blanket in the living room. You had to make your own bed in the bedroom, and the quilt was very thick and warm. The whole house is old and you can hear the floor creaking when you walk on it, but it has been well taken care of. The public areas include shared toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, and a large living room. When the sliding door is opened in the large living room, there is a larger atrium landscape. This time, there happened to be drizzle, which made the vegetation in the atrium even greener. Thanks to the reception staff who were very kind and helped us send our luggage to our next hotel. If you have the chance to go to Kyoto, you will definitely visit again!

My favorite guest house in Kyoto 🙌It's like staying at your grandmother's house or at a friend's house in Kyoto.Depending on the room, it's true that the sounds of other people walking in the hallway or talking can be annoying, but it's more comfortable than that, which is why I like it.Is the single room on the first floor 2 tatami mats? 3 tatami? At first, I thought it was too small (lol), but it reminded me of the boys' dormitory I used to go to when I was in college, and I felt nostalgic, so I've used it many times now🫶I also appreciate that the toilet is equipped with a washlet, and the water areas such as the washroom and shower room are always very clean.
