I didn't have high expectations for the room or service based on the reviews, but the hallway was dark... I laughed at the hair dryer and electrical outlet in the room... The hot water was great! I wasn't expecting much from the food either (shabu-shabu was available, but it didn't come with vegetables, so when I asked about it, I was told it didn't come with vegetables...😆) It was surprisingly delicious, quiet, and relaxing, so it might be ok if you're just looking for hot water!? There were many.

I stayed there the day before I went rafting.I was very satisfied with the open and comfortable open-air bath and the luxurious Japanese food.I hope that traditional Japanese inns like this do not disappear. I would like to thank the staff at Higashiya for providing a very soothing Japanese space.

I couldn't take a bath in the women's open-air bath until the evening. (The water seems still cold)

I took a day trip here after a long time. It seemed like the open air had been broken for a long time, but it had been repaired. As someone has written, the temperature of the spring itself is not low, but the temperature of this open-air bath is always low no matter when you come. Does it feel like 37-38℃? I think it's the lowest among horse heads. If your goal is to stay warm in the winter, it's better to go somewhere else, even if it's near Bato. There is an indoor bath and an outdoor bath on the left and right with the changing room in between, and the outdoor bath is very slippery. Also, the outdoor space has a capacity of 2 adults per person, so although the scenery is beautiful, it is small. However, it seems to be wider for men. It seems that the indoor baths are also designed differently.
