I went snow hiking and cross-country skiing in mid-February and stayed overnight. It's a small, quiet hotel located in a secluded area. The facilities are clean and there is a fireplace so you can relax. The food was also good, with a variety of local ingredients being served. Needless to say, the bath is the best. There was also an open-air bath so I could relax. The tiredness and cold from walking will soon disappear.

I was looking forward to heading there, but around 9:30 a.m., I received a call from the Tochigi city code, and the man said, ``The landlady has fallen down, so we'd like to cancel today,'' so I gave up and said, …

I was tired from walking around Senjogahara so much that the stairs from the parking lot to the front desk were tough, but the food was delicious and the inn was quiet and very nice. You can also use the private bath for one hour, so you can take a relaxing bath. I would like to come back again to try the freshly baked bread for breakfast.

The bath isn't very big, but it's close to the source, and the fluffy hot spring water melted away my fatigue.

I used it as a day trip hot spring while touring. Wild monkeys come to the open-air bath. I took a bath while watching the little monkey eating the sprouts.

When I went to another day-trip hot spring, it was out of order, so I visited the nearest day-trip hot spring by Yamamizuki. There were 2 people at the sink in the changing room and 4 people at the sink, but the hot spring water was a little rainy, but the hot water in the open-air bath outside was excellent. There was a turret built properly on top of the bath, which provided shade, so I was able to take a long bath without worrying about getting sunburned. Minimum amenities such as shampoo and basic cosmetics were also provided. I brought my own towels, but they seem to rent them out as well.

The open-air bath at the inn I was planning to stay at was closed during the winter, so I visited there before checking in to see the open-air bath.I have been to Oku-Nikko many times, but this place was unchecked.I went after 2pm on a public holiday, but there were no customers in front of me, probably because of the coronavirus pandemic and the snow in the Kanto region. The bathing fee is a bit high at 1,000 yen, but since it was available for private use, the result was great. The spring quality is emerald green at this time of year, and the sulfur smell is not very strong. The indoor bath is a suitable temperature, and the outdoor bath is lukewarm, so you can stay in it for a long time.Although I didn't have much of a sense of freedom, I was able to enjoy a very luxurious time while looking at the snowy scenery. The customer service of the woman at the reception was also polite.

I contacted them because I wanted to take a day trip to the private bath, but they said, ``They don't do this every day.''It was nice of them to say, ``I'll open the door if you can come right away,'' but when I asked them to come in 30 minutes, they declined.I think it's difficult due to the coronavirus, but I'm not sure exactly when they will be accepting applications. I feel lucky if I call and someone picks up my phone.
