Since it is a ryokan, even if you are a single guest, you will have a private room (4 and a half tatami mats, 6 tatami mats, etc.), tea and sweets are provided in the room, and lighting can be used even at night. Also, since it is a mountain hut, we are flexible about whether or not you want to have a meal or change to a boxed lunch, and you can check out and leave early in the morning. The food is excellent for the price, and there is an incredible variety of Japanese and Western items. The salt-grilled char is especially delicious and leaves you feeling full and satisfied. The building is old, and when you walk in the hallway, it creaks and you can hear voices in the next room, but the toilet has been renovated and has a very clean Western-style flush. The bath is cloudy and smells of sulfur, but there is tap water and an open-air bath for mixed bathing. The hot water comes from the source, which is a little hot at 44.7℃, so you can use it by adding water. The weak hydrogen sulfide spring is very soothing, although the bathroom is small. There are two Shiba Inu mascots, and they are so cute as they wander around and sleep without paying attention to us. If you use public transportation, you can only walk from Meobuchi Onsen to this unexplored area, and if you go from Kinsei Pass, it will take about 4 hours to cross Mt. Nenagusa. Therefore, if you are going to see things like Kinunuma and Hinataosoroshino Falls, you will need hiking shoes. You may find the climb quite tough. Everyone at the hostel welcomed us very warmly.

day tripI'm sure some people would like to take a day trip, so I'll leave a comment. I called the day before to see if they were doing it, but it was just as the website said. I hiked from Meobuchi. I think it's the kind of road where you can wear low-cut sneakers, but there are some places where water drainage is poor, so I think it depends on the person. It may be difficult for people with cleanliness, but you can enjoy two types of hot springs. It probably depends on the day, but it was lukewarm.Apparently, they will ring the bell when other day-trippers come in, so you can be prepared. Also, one of the two types (the wider one) is milky white, so I think it is easy to use as a mixed bath.It had the atmosphere of a nice mountain hut, and I thought I'd like to stay there while hiking. There are lists of mountain huts with hot springs online, but this one may be a bit of a hidden gem.The original T-shirt is very cute. Dog lovers will definitely want this. It was 3500 yen.

I visited on a Saturday around 8 o'clock. Day-trip bathing starts at 9 o'clock, so I took a walk around the area and took a bath at 9 o'clock.❢I took the first bath. There are two open-air baths here, and the quality of the spring water seems to be slightly different. There was an upper tier and a lower tier, and the upper tier was colorless and the lower tier was milky white. The temperature is just right and you can put it in slowly. A river flows right next to it, and the opposite bank is steep like a cliff, but it was nice to see the fresh greenery this season. I walked the entire way, so I was exhausted by the time I arrived at the couple's hot spring parking lot, but it was a great memory. That's good❢

A 2.5 hour walk, full of emotion. It's a private room, but there's only one sliding door separating it from the hallway, and there's no lock.It was worth coming all the way to enjoy the meal while sitting on the tatami mats, and the open-air bath that was both transparent and cloudy.

2024.6.8A hot spring at the trailhead of Mt. Kinunuma. There are famous secluded hot springs like Nyuto Onsenkyo in Akita Prefecture that attract customers by selling themselves as ``secret hot springs,'' but the true secluded hot springs are hot spring inns like this one. After all, you have to walk for an hour and a half up a steep mountain path from the parking lot to get there.I stopped by for a day bath after descending from Mt. Kinunuma, but even though it was a Saturday, there was no one there, so I was able to relax and enjoy the two open-air baths with different spring quality. If you like hot springs, this is a secret hot spring worth visiting at least once.
