This is basically a hotel for overnight stays. It definitely looks old, but that can't be helped. If you just want to sleep, there's Wifi and a washlet, so it's ok. However, since it was summer, the air conditioner wasn't very effective, so I managed to beat the heat by using a fan.The hot spring bath is a decent size, and when I used it, it was reserved for private use, so I was able to relax. There are no convenience stores or restaurants nearby, so I have to drive around for dinner, which is a hassle. Maybe taking a taxi to the hot spring town was the right thing to do.

I made a reservation for Obon and when I entered the room, it was like a sauna. I think it's normal to turn on the air conditioning before guests come in and make sure they have a comfortable temperature, but this was different. Even when I turned on the air conditioner, there was no cold air coming out, and when I told the front desk, they said, ``There is nothing wrong with the machine, it will get colder soon.''After waiting in the car for about an hour and a half, I returned to my room, but it was cooler in the hallway. I informed the front desk and they finally came to my room. It seemed like they were making some adjustments, but before that, I would have expected them to apologize politely, saying, ``The air was blocked, so cold air is coming out.'' At this point, it was 9pm, and there was no way I could stay in a defective room where I didn't know when the temperature would be right, so I canceled. I'm glad I still had a shred of conscience to get my money back. I even thought that I would never want to go to Lake Toya again. The prices are fairly reasonable, but the risks are different in summer. It is best for those using the facility to check the effectiveness of the air conditioning in advance.

I understand that they don't provide futons because it's a low rate, but there are no towels, toiletries, or tissues...the accommodation fee is 10,000 yen.

A slightly older hotel with a Showa era atmosphere. The room is also old. There is a stove and wall fan, but no air conditioning. The bathroom is also old, but has a heated toilet seat. I don't use it myself. There is a small TV. Satellite broadcasting is not available. There is Wi-Fi, but loading is a little slow. The hot springs are comfortable, but the shower is a little weak. The route to the public bath at night is a bit scary as the lights go out at 9pm.The staff are polite and kind. Please note that there is no elevator.I think just going to sleep and waking up is enough.

I stayed alone in room 258 of this hotel for two nights on February 14th and 15th, and around 5pm on the 15th, I was quietly sitting on that troublesome old wooden chair and working on my laptop. Around 6pm, an hour after I started sitting, the wooden chair suddenly collapsed without any warning, and I fell to the floor with such force. However, the chair was not high from the floor, so fortunately there were no injuries. I was running out of chairs to sit on, so I went out of the room to tell the front desk, and the moment I opened the door, my room was the only one in the hallway, with the same wooden chair next to the door.At that time, my thoughts were, for example, even if I told the front desk that a chair collapsed on its own, the staff would usually say, ``Excuse me, are you hurt? Are you okay? I'm sorry! I'm sure you'll get nothing but it's pointless, it's just a waste of time, and I've got a chair here that you can use instead. I didn't tell the front desk because I thought I'd forgive you for such a cheap place.I replaced the broken chair with the only wooden chair in the hallway, and went back to my room. The next morning, when I checked out, there was no one at the front desk, so I put the key in the return box and left. That evening, when I checked my email as usual, I found an email from the hotel. The moment I opened it, I was stunned. All of a sudden, the hotel demanded compensation of 15,000 yen for damaging a chair, and clearly listed the bank account to which the money should be transferred. At that time, I still felt that the other party should apologize in the first place, but suddenly it became clear that it was my fault. The change was so intense that I couldn't control my mood, so I got so upset that I called the hotel and got into a fight. For example, a rental car company lends a problematic car to a customer, and the customer drives the car and causes an accident or damages the car due to a malfunction in the car, in which case the rental car company demands compensation from the customer. Is it water? Isn't it an obligation for those who provide goods to maintain the quality and safety of what they give to customers? Of course, shouldn't hotels also guarantee the safety of old wooden chairs in rooms? Moreover, what does it mean to arbitrarily label a customer as the bad guy without asking the circumstances? The hotel room also has the first-generation LCD TV from 20 years ago and a rotary telephone from the Showa era.The hotel owner may have a habit of being obsessed with old things, but they are related to the safety provided to the guests. I want to ensure that my belongings are properly protected.A worn-out wooden chair that has been used for decades may have deteriorated considerably. If you look at Rakuten's hotel website, you will see that they use chairs of various types and shapes in the rooms.I don't know if the hotel is already aware of the situation with these wooden chairs, but please check the safety of these old wooden chairs to avoid any trouble or inconvenience in the future.
