The Showa era itself remains intact. The atmosphere and the hot spring smell of sulfur ♨️ were also great. The bathroom is on the third floor.

This is a real hot spring from the Showa era. The inn itself has the same Showa style. Day trip hot spring 500 yen for adults, business hours: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm. Parking is available in front of the inn (at the very edge of the river), or for a short period of time, in front of the shrine. The hot springs are 100% flowing directly from the piping hot source with a slight sulfur scent. Indoor bath only. There is no shower. There is also no hair dryer in the changing room. The hot water from the faucet smells like a hot spring.I was a little surprised as the train passed right next to the hot springs.

*I only used the drop-in bath.Drop-in bath 500 yen.Body soap and shampoo available.Towels are available for sale. The front desk was unmanned, and when I rang the bell many times and spoke patiently, a staff member came out from the back. The men's bath was being cleaned and was unavailable, so I was sent to the women's bath because there were no more customers coming. The bath itself is not large, but it is large enough for one person. There is no shower in the washing area, and you mix hot and cold water in the desired ratio from the faucet to the tub.The water that comes out of the faucet is, of course, hot spring water, and the scent is wonderful and gets you excited even before you soak in the bathtub. It is also interesting to see that the water faucet has turned black due to the hot spring ingredients. After washing my body and getting into the bathtub, it was amazing!Although it is colorless and transparent, it has the strong hydrogen sulfide scent and smooth texture typical of sulfur springs. The temperature of the water was lukewarm so I slowly dipped in it.It looked like I could adjust the temperature with the lever on the faucet supplying hot water, but I didn't dare touch it.I wanted to stay there forever, but due to time constraints, I had to leave.A facility where you can truly feel the Showa era. However, the bathroom seemed to be thoroughly cleaned and I didn't notice any slimy floors. It was a facility that I was glad I went to because of the courteous customer service.(I felt sorry for having to be guided to the bathroom on the 3rd floor by an old lady with bad legs. I thought it would have been easier if there had been a guide map or a sign board inside the building.)

They were a kind landlady and a kind general. The temperature of the hot water at the inn was just right and it felt comfortable. The rice was prepared luxuriously and was delicious. Next time I would like to stay with my family︎^_^

The room was dirty and dusty, the futon was an old futon with stains, the washlet was broken and unusable, I was staying there, and the indoor bath was suddenly disconnected and I couldn't use it, so I was asked to come outside. It's terrible 😡, you should quit this inn. quickly. The floor of the room is so dirty everywhere that my feet turn black when I walk barefoot. Is this outside?

I had work to do during Golden Week, but suddenly a spot became available, so I decided to stop by for a hot spring... so my wife and two children came to Oita.
It's sudden, but if I can stay overnight, I went to the tourist information and was directed to this hotel, but the room was not cleaned and the bedding was dirty and I felt uncomfortable.
There is dirt and hair from the medicine from the person who used it before (?), and there are stains and yellowing on the futon...The sheets and yukata seem to have been cleaned, but the crispness of laundry starch is missing. However, the carpet from the lobby to the room was not very good, but it was difficult to walk on with bare feet.
I can't say it's luxurious, but the room, the table, the tray with the teacup on it, are all covered in pride...And on top of that, the birds? insect? A rat? There was a lot of what looked like feces on the edges of booklets and shoji screens, and as expected, children were also there, so I was disgusted by the unsanitary situation.
The room I was shown to did not have a bathroom, washbasin, safe, or refrigerator, so I used my private car as a safe when I went to visit the hot springs.
The staff (?) are not bad, but there are 2 old men and 2 grandmothers who work hard (-.-;) It's not bad, but they are usually nice hotels and inns. I think people who are used to using it will be surprised.
Honestly, I don't think there is a difference between "good old Showa retro" and "tattered and dirty" as mentioned in other reviews.

The building is old anyway. The room and bathroom were a bit complicated and we had to go up some steep stairs, and the old lady who showed us around started to feel sorry for me...There is no open-air bath, only a dark indoor bath. There was a review saying that it was too hot to go in, but it was a little hot at night, but when I went in in the morning it was very warm and cold.Toilets and washrooms are shared.Apparently you can't open the windows because there are no screens and insects can get in.But the price is higher than that.I made the reservation over the phone, so maybe I didn't ask correctly, or maybe I didn't check carefully...I made the reservation thinking that the price was before the travel discount was applied, but when I made the payment, I was surprised to find out that the price was after the discount was applied! !With this quality, you won't have to pay the same price as other beautiful inns...Please be careful as there will be a surcharge to compensate for the travel discount...
