First of all, the surrounding atmosphere was nice. I came by taxi, but it felt like I was in the mountains. A little when I arrivedIt looked like there were white chairs and tables scattered around the garden. Most of the tables were turned upside down, but it was actually good. The room isThe stairs that were placed on the second floor❗️The hallway was covered with fallen leaves outside. I'm glad it was natural. The room was small. But I think it's okay since I just want to sleep. in the cityDon't imagine a hotel. The host is a very nice person. He looked quite old. The food was prepared on the stove and grilled. They said it would be just us today. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. I received the service. And the huge spiny lobster was the best. There were no other guests, so I took a bath in the cave without any hesitation. I was worried because there were so many bad posts, but it turned out to be an unnecessary worry. After all, you won't know until you see it with your own eyes.

The hotel concept is interesting and very well located. The dinner is nothing short of spectacular, both in quantity and freshness. We stayed in one of the 3 detaches rooms with included open air bath (露天風呂), which was quite a feat. However the staff is a bit peculiar (two elderly men taking turns, not your usual japanese young concierge) and with the reduced tourism the location is suffering from reduced cleaning and care.Rooms could be dusted a little better and especially the dining room is poorly ventilated: grilling seafood indoors regularly gave it a distinct smell and overall “oiliness” feeling, which could be not to everyone’s tastes.Overall a good experience, if the maintenance is stepped up definitely will be one of the top places around Shimoda.

I don't usually write reviews, but this was really bad... I don't want to give even 1 star.If you are considering it, you should choose another hotel! ! It's at a level where I don't want to stay even if it's free!First, we stayed for Obon and it cost 21,000 yen per person per night. For this amount of money, the room smelled of mold and toilet, and I opened the window of the room to ventilate it, but it was no use.The floor of the room was carpeted and full of stains. The slippers were cloth slippers and looked old and smelled very bad. Shoes were strictly prohibited, but I was wearing shoes. This is the first time in my life that I have been in such a smelly and dirty room.Dinner also includes spiny lobster and turban shells, which may seem luxurious, but they are simply grilled. The only seasonings are salt, pepper, soy sauce, and yakiniku sauce. The serving plate is a paper plate. Lemon sour is 600 yen in a strong can. The cup will come with it.Bottled beer costs 800 yen, so I regret that I should have just drank bottled beer. Also, the door to the dining room was left open, but there was probably no ventilation fan, so there was a lot of smoke. Of course, your clothes will smell like smoke. The bath in the room was a small unit bath, so I used a private bath, but it was full of insects. The good thing is that it's empty even during Obon.

-The entrance to the facility is difficult to find.-The dining room is filled with barbecue smoke.・The cashier-like area of the restaurant is the front desk.・Even when the explanation of the room is given, it is difficult to understand.・I arrived at 6pm, but was told that my meal would be served immediately.・Meals are basically just cut items and are not cooked at all.・It has spiny lobster and looks luxurious at first glance, but it's difficult to understand how to cook it and it's not very tasty.・Perhaps because the room was full of smoke, the door was left open and it was cold.・The room is of the type that can be entered directly from the outside.-The doorknob was shaky.・The toilet does not have a toilet seat warmer or a shower toilet.-The TV in the room is small and cheap and takes a long time to display.・There are three baths, but one of them cannot be used.・The bath is open until 10pm. I can't enter in the morning.・Bathrooms are basically available on a first-come, first-served basis.・The structure of a cave bath is unusual and might be fun.・There is a spider web at the entrance to this bath.・There are stairs inside, so if you fall, you might get hurt.・The shower next to the bath did not have hot water until the end.・Breakfast is placed in a basket and left in front of the room, but the contents are smaller than those at a convenience store.

I booked a stay in Izu because I wanted to take a hot spring bath.My companion has allergies, so I tried to call him, but he couldn't get through. I changed the date and called many times, but in the end I couldn't get through, so I was confused...The cave bath was quaint and got me excited, but the water was lukewarm, so I warmed up in the shower and went outside.Although it is not a hot spring, there is a bathing fee of 300 yen.The room has been renovated, but the bed is hard. There is an open-air bath in the room, but you have to clean it and fill it with hot water yourself. The hot water stops after about 1/3 of the time, so you may need to refill it several times. For dinner, the barbeque of spiny lobster is exciting, but ends up getting burnt. There's no food either.Don't ask for services. The owner and CEO don't really understand what he's talking about. The price is 37,700 yen for two people.I think people who like glamping can get away with it, but if you don't, I don't recommend it.If you are considering staying here, we recommend you reconsider.

There are many negative reviews here and thereThis is probably due to the large discrepancy between the price and the actual service.I stayed at an annex that had a good reputation. It's probably better than the main building, but it's old and the quality of cleaning, beds, and amenities are low.It is run by a few elderly men, and they seem to be doing their best to provide service. They probably don't mean any harm, but that's also the most disappointing thing (the quality can't and can't be improved any further).Negative reviews are probably written because it's not worth the price.Rather than staying here at this price, if you make a same-day reservation and stay at Tokyu Shimoda, you will definitely be able to find a cleaner, more comfortable accommodation at a cheaper price than here.
