We got two floors for our room.definitely fit for a king. The service is excellent. They greet you in the morning. They have a shuttle to take you to town. It is always 5 to 10 minutes to town in either direction. Again you needed google map. The town had a lot of restaurants to choose from. My only worry is that it is not easy to access an outdoor onsen if you are not a guest to those hotels that had outdoor onsen. The hotel got an indoor onsen. The best is that your bath tub got hot spring water. I loved it there in Arima because of those hotel. I miss Isda, Inoue and Kim with their hospitality.

Style.Vintage forest lodgeSetting.Ancient Arima Onsen. Next to a little riverExplore. An hour drive from kyoto, the Tosen shrine and bustling Arima town just down the hill@ the hotelOld fashion vintage look everywhere, hotel itself is over 100 years old and reminded me of the old ski cabins in Big Bears California. Lots of dark wood and leather chairs. Sister building of the original Gosho, in biz since 1191年 (御所坊). Excellent service and they really thought of everything everything. From the valet parking to the outdoor moving walkway that goes up and down the hillRooms.I was in room 7. Supremely comfortable room with heated floors. My room had a wooden bath that filled up with the golden spring water that Arima is known for. Part of the bathroom is a sauna I checked out the shared onsen as well but preferred my own bath, would have preferred an outdoor bath though.Food & drinks.Creative Japanese kaiseikiPrices.$1065 ($819 for the room plus $264 for dinner for one before alcohol)Rating.4/5 a bit expensive for me
