I always stay the night before climbing the 5th mountain, so I use it every year. The inside is like a capsule hotel, with separate rooms for men and women. There are restaurants, toilets, and showers inside the facility, but due to the local nature, the showers don't have much water. There is an outlet inside the capsule which is helpful.

(Review of capsule hotel only: September 2024)All the other mountain huts were booked so we ended up here. This counts as a hut so you’re able to hike Mt. Fuji before 3am. They offer gender separate capsule beds and private rooms. We arrived around 4:30pm and the restaurant was closed. First floor closes at 5pm. I suggest eating dinner and/or buying food and water before going up to the 5th station. The other stores at the 5th station close around 5pm too. The restaurant/common room is open until 8pm for guests.Shower was 500 yen for 5 min (didn’t use) and bathrooms smelled but worked. Tons of lockers were available. The capsule bed itself wasn’t bad. It fairly was roomy, had one outlet and an alarm. I kept two backpacks inside with me and still had room (I’m 5’6). Do not expect a luxurious stay, but it’s a great option before hiking Mt. Fuji, especially if you want to hike early/before 3am to catch the sunrise.

Good location, I recommend spending the night the day before the ascent to avoid crossing paths with all the volume of people who arrive with the first bus. The lockers fill up quickly so I recommend leaving your bags at Fuji Station or Kawaguchiko.

The restaurant where you can rest before and after climbing Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, the meals are exactly the same on both days.

The accommodation location is very convenient, but the capsule is a bit stuffy. The staff at the counter make it seem like they only want to receive Japanese people. I feel very bad about the differential treatment of foreigners. The attitude at the counter really makes me reluctant to visit again.

When you cannot reserve cabins at the stations along the way, staying here is a good option, however, the maximum time to register is defined at 5:30 pm and on the reservation confirmation page and email it is only mentioned as a tentative time arrival, but after that time there is usually no reception and you can no longer access your room, so if you plan to book it, keep this point in mind. Then the person pressing for a room in high season pays 9,500 yen which is not expensive for having been high season considering that it is difficult to find a reservation. Mention that the last bus from Kawaguchiko station to station 5 leaves at 5:40 pm, if you arrive at that station after that time you will have to pay for a taxi and that will cost you more than the room. When I called to see if I could change the reservation, the person who confirmed it was a little rude and said that if I want to make a change in the reservation, I just have to cancel (no refund) and make a new reservation (paying again).
