Before we arrived we had a few questions to clarify via email. The response time was record-breaking.When we arrived we were warmly greeted and shown our two rooms with tatami mats and traditional sliding doors. The pictures online were great, but everything looked even more impressive in person.Before dinner we enjoyed hot bath which can accommodate two people.The dinner itself was another highlight. Numerous dishes, lovingly prepared in small bowls, were served to us.After dinner, the owner of the house took us behind the house with a flashlight. We saw a lot of fireflies there. As the owner told us, it would be the first evening this season that fireflies would be visible. A few weeks later there would be even more.We also really appreciated the Japanese cuisine at breakfast, mmh!Communication was no problem with a few words of Japanese and of course our translation app.

This is a fantastic accommodation. The female host of the guesthouse is very friendly and warm. On the day we arrived, it was raining, and she immediately came with an umbrella to welcome us, offering us the most caring smile. The food she prepared was also delicious. We had a very pleasant time there.

This B&B is really great. Thank you for your warm hospitality. The landlady is very friendly and her dinner and breakfast are delicious. The living room, bedroom and dining room each have an area of 8 floors, and because we are only hosting the two of us, it is very comfortable. The toilets and bathrooms are top-notch facilities, better than those in some five-star hotels. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again and highly recommend this B&B to travelers passing through Shimanto.

Thank you for your help in September.The food is amazing!I felt that the local ingredients were carefully prepared. It was very delicious.Is there a fire lit in the hearth in winter? I would like to come here in winter too.The stars were beautiful at night. I wanted to lie down and watch it forever.I would definitely like to stay with you again when you come to Shimanto.

When you first enter, it may be hard to tell because it looks like an ordinary private house, but other than that it was very nice.Only one group per day was allowed, so we were able to relax.The toilet and bath were also clean and easy to use.Both breakfast and dinner were very delicious.The sweetfish and rice for dinner were delicious.The place to eat is a hearth, so I would like to stay there next time in winter.

I stayed here for one night during the winter.Although it wasn't the season for river fish, the boiled wild boar was delicious.You can experience the irori hearth, and only one group stays per day, so it might be a good idea to stay with your family.
