It was a very relaxing time soaking in the bath while looking out at the garden from the open air of the guest room. I thought it would be a fun project to sit around a bonfire in a corner of the garden in the evening and enjoy mulled wine and roast marshmallows.

It was so good. I was disappointed with the ryokan in Noboribetsu, but this one had a decent amount of people so it was good for a vacation. When checking in, a male staff member guided me and the other staff members were very friendly, so I felt comfortable. There was an open-air bath in the private room. Room quality is also good. USB and C type ports were also provided for charging. There is free beer at the bar, and there is a campfire in the evening, where you can grill ham and marshmallows over the bonfire. Breakfast was also very delicious. You can drink mini-sized Asahi beer in the open-air bath. The only downside is the location. If you don't have a car, I recommend sightseeing at Otaru Station in the morning and checking in in the evening. The ryokan is closest to Asari Station, but it is a bit far to walk with a suitcase. If you walk to Google Maps, you will be directed to the back door, so be careful. When checking out, there is a free bus to Otaru Station.

I tried adding a ryokan, but it's just an accommodation goat.Breakfast was delicious, and the service was so good that it felt burdensome.All staff speak English, and there is a convenience store right in front.

I stayed in a special room. The room was spacious and nice, the view outside the window was nice, and the open-air bath attached to the room... what can I say? It felt really good to take a hot spring bath while the snow was falling. The hot spring water is also of different quality.However, I deducted 1 point because I thought the food was a bit lacking in splendor compared to paying close to 1 million won for the room. They explained it as if it were a course meal, but the problem was that items 1-3 came out at once, and items 4-7 came out at the same time, so it felt like the meal itself was over very quickly and I can't say there was a lot of portions. The plating was pretty, but it was so simple that it felt like I was forgetting my lunch box.Still, it tasted good and I was glad that all the food was easily digestible. It tasted healthy. And salt pickled salmon roe for breakfast? I got something with yam and it seemed like a person with no knowledge of Japanese food would have no way of knowing how to eat it. I just mixed it up and mixed the grated yam on top of the rice...It was disappointing that there was a lack of explanation on how to eat it.Anyway, the staff were really friendly and it was nice that the lounge and minibar were well-equipped. I intend to visit again, but I wasn't 100% satisfied, so I think I'll go for a room with a cheaper price next time.

I stayed here on a trip to celebrate my parents' anniversary, and the building, facilities, and hospitality of the staff were all top-ranked!I have never received such warm hospitality.The hot springs and food are exceptional, but the employees really made me feel better.Although it's far away, I would like to stay here again while my parents can move!

Kourakuen was the most memorable place in Japan. All the staffs were so polite and kind. The service alone was beyond ratable.The food was Michelin style with course menus and the most fresh ingredients sourced from local market and brewery.The portion was generous. I do not feel generous about portion in many places but Kourakuen definitely was. If the food not enough.. you probably need to your GI doc for a consult.Onsen was very well maintained with utmost sanitary standards. Water quality top notch.Can’t recommend enough. Definitely coming back. Even all the small talks I exchanged with staff members were memorable.The heaven in Sapporo is Otaru Kourakuen.

The staff did everything they could to provide hospitality, such as the customer service, the food, the indoor and outdoor baths, the spacious lounge, and the many events that were held.Everything was very comfortable, and all of our guests were very satisfied. It was in a high price range, but since it is an almost all-inclusive service, I think the price is well worth it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it no matter when you go, so I'd definitely like to stay there again.

I've been to Japan a few times, but this is my first ryokan. If you want to feel the great outdoors, go to the ryokan's large bathhouse.As I enjoy the large public bath in a private place and smell the outside air, there is no other place like Mureungdowon.I made a reservation for a rest stop in the middle of my trip to Sapporo, and I was very happy to be treated well and relieve my fatigue.If you want to experience a large public bath without the hassle, go to a ryokan!

I used this hotel on a 2 night and 3 day trip to Hokkaido in August of this year, and the whole family was satisfied with the services provided throughout the hotel. It was an accommodation that I would like to use again when traveling.

I stayed here with my toddler.I was sorry that my child was making such a noise in a calm inn, but none of the staff made any unpleasant faces and I am truly grateful to them for accommodating me.The hot springs and gardens are well maintained, and it felt good to take a walk.It had high reviews, so I tried not to have too high expectations before staying, but it really lived up to the reviews and it was a wonderful inn.I will definitely stay here again when I travel to Hokkaido.Thank you very much for your help.

BEST RYOKAN EVER. From start to end, this place is high class all around. The beautiful gardens were magnificently manicured and peaceful. Complimentary HH includes roasting marshmallows/banana/bacon and drinks. The onsens were immaculate. Ryokan is well maintained. Both meals provided were memorable. Love LOVES every minute spent here! Highly recommended.

It's a classy and cozy place.The garden is large and beautiful, so it's great for walking.I stayed for 3 days and had a different menu every day and enjoyed it.The staff's service is also attentive.The facilities are also clean.There is also Trial right in front, so shopping is fun.

Regardless of whether you use the points addition method or the deduction method, this is the best accommodation facility!It's different from hotels and inns that are just expensive because they have a brand name on the price.I stayed here with my wife and three children on a family trip, and if I were to go to Sapporo to Otaru again, I would definitely choose this place as my accommodation.

The accommodation where everything was perfect! It was really great. 🫶The room was spacious and clean, and the open-air bath attached to the room was really nice! I went with my parents and two babies, and the places where we ate breakfast and dinner were all in very spacious tatami rooms, so we were able to eat comfortably. Since everyone takes off their shoes when entering, the children were able to move around freely inside the accommodation. I also requested a baby bathtub and they lent it to me :)Above all, I was impressed by the friendly and attentive service. As soon as the baby arrived at the accommodation, he suddenly developed a severe fever, but the desk helped us find a pediatrician that we could go to in Otaru, so we were able to deal with it safely. The baby had heat cramps and was so upset, so I was really thankful!!Oh, and you can freely have coffee or milk cookies in the lobby, and the milk was so delicious haha. It was a perfect accommodation that made me want to come back again❤️

we stayed 2 nights in 2 different room types as we wanted to experience different views. a minimum of 2 nights stay is definitely recommended as the compound is vast. by the time we checked in, we hardly manged to visit half the compound in between dinner, onsen, and free flow beer/wine. dinner was delicious and while we were full, we could understand why some guests reviewed that it was not quite enough. breakfast was very good too. We had 2 different meals for dinner and breakfast on both days, and I had read that some guests complained that they had the same meals both days. I'm guessing its because we stayed in the special room on the 2nd night. we simply had to pack our bags the 2nd morning, took the shuttle to the train station to go otaru for lunch and walk around, and by the time we got back our bags were in the new room. the in house massage was also fantastic. my wife complained that i fell asleep and started snoring just minutes into the massage.
