Not only enjoyed seeing the cloud under your eyes in the morning, Mr. MORI's hospitality was second to none. This is a hidden jewelry everyone needs to discover when you visit Shikoku.

2023.08.29A hidden spot in Kumakogen. Climb up the narrow path. There are many points where it is difficult to pass each other, but the road is wide enough that even a wagon can pass. When we arrived at our destination, we saw a rare sign that it was a private observation deck. An extremely rare observation deck built by an individual. Perhaps that's why it costs 100 yen per person to enter.Inside, a friendly old man will talk to you and explain various things to you.The scenery is truly spectacular. You can see the entire Kuma Highlands. I am humbled to think that an old man can see this by cutting down trees and cutting weeds by himself. The observation deck is also quite well built, and it seems that it was originally designed by a professional architect, so the quality is comparable to that of a tourist spot. What's more, it is barrier-free and can be climbed even in a wheelchair. I'm afraid. It seems that guests can enjoy barbecuing here, and can do so while looking at the spectacular view. Unfortunately, it seems that camping is not possible, but if you stay overnight, you can enjoy the night view, the strongest starry sky where you can even see the Milky Way, and if you are lucky you can even see a sea of clouds.Well, what's most interesting is the fact that the old man spent 25 years building this all by himself. There's a huge self-made hut where you can do karaoke, beekeeping, spring water, and so much more.By the way, there is an old public toilet.A super rare hidden spot. It seems that there is no money coming from the public sector, so it costs money to maintain it.By the way, there is also a hiking course that takes about 30 minutes. It may not be an exaggeration to say that you can see the best DIY in Japan.

The road was narrow, but there were signposts everywhere and it was easy to understand.

I stopped by on a weekday afternoon.Since it was September, it was not the season for autumn leaves, but we were still able to enjoy the spectacular view overlooking Kuma. When we got off the observation deck, the friendly owner and his wife talked to us and told us about the best time to see ginkgo trees and that we could also see soba flowers. I will definitely come visit again!
