I've never stayed there, but they do have lunch there, and I highly recommend the beef stew lunch. The portions are large, so you'll feel full. If you come to Kawarayu Onsen "Ouyu", which is shown on the left of the attached photo, we recommend the set.

A long-established hot spring inn that was recently relocated and opened due to dam development. There are only 5-6 rooms, and the bathrooms are small. However, the food is simple and delicious, using local ingredients. The maid is elderly, but it feels like you're at your grandma's house. It may not be suitable for people who are looking for the atmosphere and service of a high-class hot spring inn, but the pleasant atmosphere is very relaxing.Thank you for the comfort of not having to strain your shoulders or elbows.

It's not a large inn from the outside, so you can't help but feel that the rooms and hot springs are small. However, the rooms have large windows with a great view, the quality of the hot springs has a slight sulfur scent that is unique to Kawarayu, and although it is not fancy, the food is well-prepared and prepared as you would expect from a long-established restaurant. Everything came together in a way that made me feel like, ``It's good the way it is,'' and I had a pleasant time. This is the kind of inn that makes you want to stop by.

The inn had a good balance of food, hot springs, and facilities, and was very cost-effective.It's especially recommended for people who want to enjoy hot springs and meals without spending too much money, but don't want the building to be in disrepair.Facility:The structure of the building is at a level that is disproportionate to the price range of an inn, and it is extremely comfortable as it has excellent soundproofing and heat insulation.I guess this is because of compensation for relocation due to dam construction.hot spring:The spring quality is sulfate-based, and only water is added. It was light compared to the amount of ingredients, probably due to the high water content, but it was still at a level where you could really feel the effects of the hot springs.Unfortunately, there is no water server outside the bathhouse.cooking:The quality exceeded the price in both quantity and taste, and the char and grilled char were especially delicious.Hot items come out one by one later, but they come out very quickly, so people who want to eat slowly may be interested.

I have stopped by Oyu several times on day trips, but this was my first stay at Kawaraya Onsen since it was relocated to higher ground. Many of the newly built inns relocated from the old hot spring town do not allow single occupancy, but I found Marukiya's single occupancy plan on the website, so I booked it immediately.Lately, I've had many opportunities to stay at remote hot spring inns, so it was very refreshing to see a newly built hot spring inn for the first time in a while. As expected, the cost of lodging has increased since the days of the old hot spring town, so the interior decoration of the room and the food content were more than I expected.Even though I don't usually drink alcohol, I was so excited that I ordered an additional set to compare the drinks. The room we stayed in also had a balcony to enjoy the view, which made a good impression. If I had to complain, I would say that the best thing about the new hot spring town is that you can enjoy the lake view of Yamba Dam, but I felt that the view of the lake from the inn was a bit poor.Regarding access, there is a free shuttle service to Kawaraya Onsen Station, so once the new hot spring town is completed, I hope that the limited express trains will be able to stop at Kawaraya Onsen Station like they used to.

The view, the atmosphere, the food, it was amazing. To be honest, the bathroom was a little small.

A small inn. You will be guided to your room and greeted. The original inn sank into the dam lake. If your navigation is old, you will be guided to the bottom of the lake. Unlike the current two-story building, it was a three-story building, and laundry was hung to dry on the third floor. The hot spring water is light and lukewarm, and the bathtub is just the right size, so it feels like you're floating in the water.
