First of all, you should fill up your tank with gasoline before heading to this accommodation nestled deep in the mountains of Bungo-Ono.The interior, which was renovated from an abandoned school, is filled with a sense of hospitality, and just walking around the building will make your heart flutter.In terms of access, the mountain road is long, taking 4 to 50 minutes, but the views of mountain streams and forests along the way are nice.And of course sauna!The staff paid close attention to every detail, and the sauna was created with the customer's perspective in mind and the line of flow... or rather, the entire space. I don't think there is anywhere else in Oita Prefecture with this level of quality. The best!

Loved this accommodation. Set deep in the bush, it's a beautiful old building with lots of character and charm. Rooms are near and clean, beds are super comfortable. The food for dinner and breakfast was great and the staff are really wonderful people, kind, approachable and happy to help or have a friendly chat. Thank you so much guys!

[The best sauna with outstanding hospitality! ]Sauna room temperature, spacious pool water bath from bucket shower. Everything was great! ! !It was a chilly day, but the wood stove warmed me up from the inside out, and I took a dive into the cold water bath.Thank you very much for the best "Totonoi"!

The location is awkward to get to but if you have a car and really want to get away, then this place could be for you. They have a Finnish style sauna. Bring your own swimsuit OR rent one from the venue! The area is a pretty one to hike in, especially during spring and fall. The azaleas and koyo season are enjoyable. If you want to try deer "hambagu" then this is your chance! It was a really interesting meal. Glad I tried something new. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I felt very comfortable chatting (in Japanese). This place is recommended for people who want to get away and have a retreat from hectic life schedules😁

Stayed here for climbing Mt. Sobo.I went there by car, but it was difficult to access as you had to walk down endless narrow roads.However, everyone at the facility was friendly and made my stay comfortable.The hot pot with wild boar meat at night is also spicy and delicious.

Stayed overnight for a hike to Mt Sobo. The staff were all kind and attentive, the place had a good laid back atmosphere with lots of artsy pictures. The deer burger meal and the lamb mince meat meal were also delicious especially if paired with the beers that they have on offer.Just be careful with the bus schedules since buses only runs during weekdays and you need to call the taxi company in advance to make a reservation for pickup to and from ogata station to lamp bungohno during weekends.
