We stayed there for 1 night during our roadtrip in Kyushu. The experience was fantastic!The location is strategic to visit the Takachiho gorge and there is a beautiful shrine nearby.The room was super clean and the beds were comfortable. With additional 1000 yen you can get a delicious home cooked breakfast and a great coffee roasted directly by the host which was one of the best coffees I have ever had.The hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating, they woke up earlier than usual to cook breakfast for us.I would definitely recommend!

Staying at this hostel for one night with my family, surrounding with nature and super quiet at night. Pls note that bring foods on your own for dinner due to the restaurant around closed pretty early before 5pm. The host was very hospitality and tried to communicate with us. You can ring the bell at the reception desk for more water when you run out of it. This hostel has two rooms but our grandma is not able to climb the stairs they kindly help us move the futon to the first floor instead. We had a pleasant stay here and would love to go back again. Ps. You can ask the owner to help prepare breakfast for an extra 1000 yen per person (omelet rice miso soup and coffee)

An old folk house cafe and hotel located 2 minutes walk from the back road of the second parking lot of Wetate Shrine.Although the restaurant has been renovated, it retains the atmosphere of my grandparents' house in the countryside, giving it a nostalgic feel.There is a Japanese-style room with wooden floors and an alcove, and a small table on the veranda, making it a great place to enjoy drinks such as Holy Basil Tea in the spring weather.It is a wonderful place where you can relax and be enveloped in the tranquility of the mountains as it is far from the main road.This is a place that we highly recommend for those visiting Wetate Shrine.

I used the cafe.It was a relaxing space where the real feelings seemed to flow slowly.The blueberry jam that came with the cheesecake was very delicious.I would like to stay overnight next time.

Close to Shietate Shrine.However, it is like a hidden place, and only those who are called can go there.The sweets were not only handmade, but also made with carefully selected ingredients, which made my body feel relaxed and delicious.I had a great time in a place where I could satisfy my body and stomach without sacrificing the divine energy I received from Mr. Shietate.Apparently they are also building a hotel, but they are currently undergoing renovations to the bathroom, so I definitely want to stay there once it's completed.Since the room we were staying in was on the second floor,I tried to be selfish, butThe second floor also had a very cheerful atmosphere.It's perfect for an early morning visit to Shietate-san.It would be very helpful if I could eat breakfast when I got home after visiting the shrine early in the morning!So, I'm giving it 4 stars with high expectations for my stay.I'm looking forward to completing the bath.

I always stop by after visiting Shietate Shrine.The cafe is located in a renovated old private house and is surrounded by nature, making it a very comfortable space.The rice flour cheesecake is voluminous, rich and delicious.
