Steep Mountain This is my favorite campsite as it is secluded and surrounded by a deep valley. The facilities are minimally necessary (hot showers, Japanese-style flush toilets, etc., so you won't have any problems, but there are no shops nearby, so you'll need to prepare what you need in advance). In recent years, campgrounds have been established and maintained in various locations, and depending on the season, you can enjoy a much more relaxing time than the popular campgrounds where neighboring tents are close together, reminiscent of rush hour commuting in the city. Also, there are adjacent mountains, rivers, and valleys. You can fully immerse yourself in the scenery and topography unique to Gokansho!

I stayed in a bungalowIt feels good to be surrounded by mountains. It takes more than an hour from both Yatsushiro and Kumamoto. There's no shopping nearby, so it's best to bring your own food.Futons and barbecue stoves can be rented out, but it is generally better to provide your own bedding. There is a tatami mat on the second floor to sleep on, but it will be painful if you don't have a futon or mattress. The nights are chilly even in summerBecause it's a mountain, there are insects and bees. The nearby river is clear and beautiful, making it a perfect summer resort.

A quiet campsite surrounded by a deep mountain valley. It's cool even in the summer and rich in nature.Since it's an unexplored area, it takes an hour to get to a supermarket or convenience store, so make sure you don't forget anything when you go!Even if you stay in a bungalow on a summer night, it can be a little cold if you only have a towel blanket. The refrigerator in the bungalow doesn't get very cold, so you'll need plenty of ice packs and a cooler box.Although it is surrounded by nature, there are many pests such as horseflies, mosquitoes, yellow hornets, and hornets outside, so be careful not to get bitten! There are also a lot of deer and wild boars, so be sure to clean up any leftover food so they don't damage it.There really isn't anything other than the facilities necessary for camping, but on the other hand, that's good for outdoor enthusiasts. The river that flows below the campsite is also highly transparent, and is home to Aburahaya and Yamame trout.
