I used it for the first time on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.The accommodation fee for one night and two meals, which was a plan to enjoy carp and seasonal Nozawa flavors, was 15,400 yen/person (consumption tax included, bathing tax excluded).Although the building and rooms are old, they were kept clean. It's a minor point, but having an independent air conditioner in each room is convenient.Towels and bedding are clean and odor free. I love the bath towel designed by Taro Okamoto, which has the character ``Yu'' on it. Amenities are not very comprehensive, so it is better to bring cosmetics and other items that you are used to using.Since the inn has 12 rooms in total, the bathrooms themselves are not large. The washroom was for 3 people. The indoor bath made of cypress was aged and had an elegant feel. Overflow, which is the most important thing for hot spring facilities, was sufficiently done. I was told, ``The water at the top is hot, so please stir it with a spatula.'' In fact, it's hot when you first put your hands on it. Is it okay to use a boiling stick? However, when I tried it, the temperature dropped sufficiently and I was able to take a really comfortable bath without adding water. The breakfast, both side dishes and rice, was delicious and more than enough for us. Naturally, there was plenty of Nozawana.Since it is located in the center of a hot spring town, the roads around it are narrow and even a light car will likely run off. Although it says ``10 free parking spaces,'' there are only about 2 spaces in front of the inn. I had a hard time turning around to park in front of the inn, but in the end I left the key with the host. Is there a parking lot other than the front? If you are going by car, we recommend that you tell them the size of your car and ask them in advance where to go to the inn and where to park.Although it is not as luxurious as a high-end inn, the host and landlady's reception was polite and smiling, which left a good impression on me.Dinner is not included in the evaluation items for accommodations, including this inn. This is because the contents change drastically depending on the price, and the evaluation as an accommodation facility is unstable. The price of accommodation is evaluated based on one night with breakfast included, but we believe that the price of accommodation at this inn is high. Although we highly rate the hot springs, unfortunately we could not give it a 5/5 rating due to the price, the view from the room, the access and additional facilities such as the parking lot.Dinner is not reflected in the evaluation, but the food in the plan was very delicious. The volume was also very large. This was my first time trying Koi Koku, and the Koi Koku that they prepared for me, saying, ``I got a carp with young children,'' had no odor at all and was very delicious. I'm glad I was able to try Koikoku, a local dish from Nagano Prefecture, here. I would have liked to see more pride and explanation about the dishes made with local ingredients other than Koikoku.Comparing the price for a room without meals, one night with breakfast, and one night with half board at this inn, the amount equivalent to dinner is extremely low. Is it a regional characteristic, a reflection of the central location, is the demand for breakfast-only accommodation too high, or is there some other reason? I think the price system is such that it would be a waste if dinner was not included. If you can eat a lot, I think this ryokan is a very good value for money price with 1 night and 2 meals included.
