I visited alone on a weekday in the off-season.This is a large hotel and there are three hot springs within the hotel, but one of them was under construction and I couldn't enter. However, I was fully satisfied with the main public bath and the open-air bath. I have stayed at other hotels at Akakura Onsen, but the hot water is really good. Having an open-air bath all to myself was amazing. The inside of the hotel had the atmosphere of ``this is a great inn from the Showa era,'' and for me, who is over 60 years old, it was a space full of nostalgia. After breakfast (due to the number of guests, I had a luxurious Japanese set meal), a shuttle bus was taken to Myoko Kogen Station for me alone. I also enjoyed talking with the driver. The ski boom of the past has passed and the hot spring town has become a little lonely, but I hope to visit it again someday.

The hotel building has an old-fashioned feel.Enjoy the atmosphere of the Showa erabutWhy is there a step here? That's about itThere are many steps inside the building. The distance to the hot springs is quite far and there are ups and downs. Not recommended for people with disabilitiesThere is a karaoke room, but it is closed. It takes several minutes to call a taxi. There is no convenience store nearby. It takes several minutes by car to reach the foot of the mountain. If you drink inside the facility, you will be under virtual house arrest. The faucet in the room does not provide drinking water. The front desk is not available from 10pm and it's pitch black. When I called, the night watchman came out. There is no front desk staff, which is a nuisance. I will not come again. It's not a place to hang out.In fact, the only guests staying that day were students on the training camp.

It's a fairly large hotel and seems to have been quite busy in the past. However, I have become quite lonely now. But on the other hand, it has a good taste, and even though the hot springs and jacuzzi are closed, there is no doubt about the quality. The spring quality has a slight smell, flowing directly from the source.Day trip bathers are also welcome during Obon for 1,000 yen.

I stayed for one night with the Hokuriku support discount. Although it cannot be denied that the facilities are outdated, I was satisfied with the hot spring itself. The beef stew for dinner was also delicious. On the day of the event, dozens of students from Nagaoka City Special Needs School came on a school trip, and I was impressed by the fun faces on everyone's faces. The annex building has a barrier-free bath, so even people with physical disabilities can use the hot springs.
