Food caught, gathered, and cooked by the owner and wife was amazing. They were very attentative and friendly! They have a family sized onsen water tub that is pretty hot but since there are not many rooms, you can usually have it to yourselves! You can also ask the wife for a pass to Hotel Village's outdoor onsen for free and the place is pretty much across the street. Rooms were very clean and simple. Hot water for tea can be refilled downstairs. We were foreigners but they were very kind with us and even made sure we were okay with foods like natto.

I looked for a place to stay in Kusatsu Onsen, but all the places were too expensive and didn't fit my budget, so I found this inn at an exceptional price. When I asked them about it, I found out that they were a pioneering couple who were the first to open a pension in Japan. The building is a little old, but the toilets are clean and the baths are of course Kusatsu no Yu. Very high quality hot water was flowing constantly.I had the food at the restaurant. For dinner, we had an array of wild vegetables from the spring of May, as well as wild vegetable dishes. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western food, and if you order Western food, homemade jam sauce will come out and it will be delicious. We also gather wild vegetables, so I was able to talk with my wife about wild vegetables all the time, and I had a lot of fun and good memories. It's an inn I'd like to visit again and again, but it's far away (T_T)

The building is showing its age, but it's clean so it doesn't bother me.The toilet is shared, but it has been renovated and is very clean (I have only seen the one for women). The bath is very hot and feels great! It was surprisingly hot!Enjoy it in a short time. A long bath is not possible. We had dinner at the restaurant next door. It was very delicious and small. All groups (5 groups) start at the same time! The chef explains the dishes to everyone! Reasonable! For breakfast, I chose Western food at the pension. The mushroom omelet was delicious! The owner and his wife were also friendly and nice people.thank you very much.

We were able to enjoy Kusatsu's hot springs at any time and enjoyed hearty hospitality cuisine. Since I was visiting in May, I enjoyed tempura made from wild vegetables for dinner.Sometimes I go to a delicious local tempura restaurant, but I pay a certain amount of money for it. I was really satisfied with having such freshly fried wild vegetable tempura served. We have been asked to come back for mushroom dishes in the fall, and since it is easily accessible from the Kanto region, we will be visiting again.

I visited the restaurant for the first time in 40 years. Authentic Italian cuisine prepared by a chef trained in Italy. There aren't many seats, so it's best to make a reservation. The food is wonderful, making use of locally sourced ingredients, and goes perfectly with wine. Although it was a lunch course, three types of homemade bread were served. If you're staying at Kusatsu Onsen, I think it's perfect for lunch.

It was a nice and warm accommodation. As Japan's first pension, it was founded in 1969, so the building is showing its age, but the construction is solid, the tatami in the room was brand new, there was plenty of sunlight, and it was well-maintained and clean. Dinner was plentiful, with meat, fish, sashimi, stews, etc., as well as maitake mushrooms steamed in clay pots and homemade plum dessert. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese or Western food, and the jam, furikake, ponzu sauce, pickled plums, etc. are all homemade and delicious. Oh yeah, it seems that the husband goes to the mountains to collect the mushrooms that are steamed in clay pots.In a corner of the same building, his son runs an Italian restaurant that seems to be popular, so I thought I'd like to visit there for lunch next time.It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Yubatake to the inn, but there are short and easy cycling and hiking trails nearby, so it was great to be able to take a walk through the quiet snowy landscape.I hope that the owner and his wife will always be in good health. For some reason, I can't give a star less for an inn like this.I would like to visit you again.

A hot spring pension in Kusatsu. I think it has a large capacity for a pension. The couple will welcome you warmly. The indoor hot spring baths for men and women are also large for a pension.

This pension is run by a couple, but every corner of the building is kept clean.Meals are served using wild vegetables and mushrooms collected in the mountains. When I stayed there, wild vegetables seemed to be abundant, so I was able to enjoy some delicious wild vegetable dishes. I would like to try the mushroom dishes next time. The room had minimal facilities, but I was able to sleep comfortably on a fluffy futon in a Japanese-style room. Please note that there are no toothbrushes or refrigerators.I felt at ease with the warm customer service.

I'm very happy to be able to stay in Kusatsu at a reasonable price. It's about a 10 minute walk from Yubatake, and a 7-Eleven is also nearby. This is a system where you can enter the public bath and open-air bath at a large resort hotel called Hotel Village. I like open-air baths, so I went there. There are a lot of rooms, but they seem to limit the number of people in the room, so there were two couples and one person, so it was quiet. The owners, an elderly couple, welcome you with a casual warmth. Both dinner and breakfast were homemade, plentiful, and delicious.Pensions usually have a lot of beds, but I like Japanese-style rooms with futons, so I was able to relax even though it was small. In the morning, I took a walk on the snowy road and watched the sunrise. My only regret is that I had to abandon my plan to see the Yubatake illuminated at night because I was too full. The next day, it was about a 20 minute walk to the ski resort.I would like to stay again next time. I hope you are always well.

I spend 30 to 40 nights out a year, and the food here is the best of all the hotels, inns, and pensions I've stayed at. In particular, autumn mushrooms are abundant in variety, quantity, and cooking methods, so I would like to go there every autumn if possible. Delicious food is available in other seasons as well, so I've been coming back so many times that I've lost track of how many times I've stayed here. The room is not big, but it is clean, quiet and relaxing. The toilets are also shared, but they are clean. The bath is a hot spring, but it's a small indoor bath, so I always go to Village.
