It's great to have a private hot spring bath. The creative dishes prepared by the proprietress are also delicious.

Above all, the food is delicious. You can enjoy creative dishes made mainly from vegetables. The handmade cakes and herbal teas are all made with care, down to the smallest details.Although the room was old, it was clean and I didn't have to worry about the shared toilet or bath. However, there are many stairs and steps, so people with mobility problems may need to be careful. However, it is an inn that I would definitely like to visit again.

2024.6. I was grateful that I was able to park my bike in front of the eaves of the entrance. So, the inn is open only on weekends for a couple.Sawatari Onsen is said to have once been a popular hot spring resort, but now there is no trace of what it was like back then, and it feels quite deserted.Kanetoku Ryokan also seems to be over 60 years old.To be honest, the deterioration is noticeable everywhere. And recently, the water pipe in the washbasin in my room was broken, so there was no water, so there was a jug in there. However, the room was well-cleaned and I didn't have any concerns about hygiene. The temperature of the source is said to be 41℃, but it felt much higher to me. (In order to adjust the water temperature, they sometimes have to throw out the hot water instead of putting it in the bathtub.) However, compared to Kusatsu's more stimulating spring quality, this Sawatari Onsen has a gentle spring quality, so it is unlikely that you will get hit by the hot water. The special feature of this ryokan is the wide range of dishes prepared using a wide variety of locally grown vegetables. As other people's reviews said, the colorful and time-consuming dishes were all original and delicious, making the best use of the ingredients, and which you would never find at other inns. I could feel the kindness of the husband as he talked to me about various things while serving the food. Thanks to him, there were 3 solo men staying that night, and I was able to meet strangers in the dining room. It was also fun to have conversations with other guests. Dinner is served at 7am, breakfast is served at 8am, and the two baths are reserved for private use. You can enter anytime if there is space. If you want a new and comfortable accommodation, we recommend paying more and staying elsewhere, but if you are willing to accept the oldness and inconvenience and are looking for something different, this is a recommended accommodation. I think.

(When staying overnight) The hot springs are reserved for private use, so you can relax and enjoy the hot springs when they are not in use. Also, the food was different from my impression of the hotel in a good way, the color and taste were good! There is also a kotatsu in the room during the winter, which is VERY GOOD!

My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday in December. There was one group that canceled due to the cold wave, so there were two groups staying that day.I had high expectations because the previous information was good, but the inn was even more wonderful than that. You can reserve the bath for yourself and take your time, and it's a very pleasant hot spring.I was also very impressed with how delicious the food was. The menu focuses on fresh vegetables, but the use of herbs and spices is exquisite, creating a taste you won't find anywhere else.I was skeptical that it would be lacking since it was mainly made with vegetables, but my worries were completely dispelled.Although it was a cold season, I was glad that there was a kotatsu in the room.Next time, I would like to visit during the wild vegetable season.

It was an inn that was only open on Saturdays, where the proprietress, who was proud of her cooking, served a special vegetable full-course meal. Although it is reasonably priced at 12,000 yen including two meals, the food is exceptionally delicious. The inn is old and not very accessible, but it was a ryokan whose advantages far outweighed its disadvantages.[Other features]・There is no bathroom/toilet safe in the room, but there is a refrigerator.・Dinner at 18:00, breakfast at 8:00 fixed at the dining room・There are two baths reserved for private use, and there is no key at the entrance.・Water quality: colorless and transparent, chlorine, heating, circulation filtration・Renovated toilet, washlet type・You can get a free ticket when you go to the public bath.・There was one stink bug in the room.
