Thank you for your help the other day!I used Kirishimaya Ryokan on my first trip to Kusatsu.I received it.I am satisfied with both the indoor bath and the family bath.I was surprised at how steep the route was, but thanks to the host's good hospitality, we had a great time!I want to come here again 👏

A B&B type inn that does not include dinner. Because of its history, you can stay overnight without breakfast. It's only a few minutes from Yubatake, and it's on a hill, surrounded by trees, so it's very quiet. The rooms are Japanese-style rooms with and without toilets. There is no air conditioner, only a fan. (There is heating.) The toilet in the room is small, so it may be difficult for large people. The hot springs are fed directly from the source, and there are three bathtubs for men and women, separated into 47°C, 43°C, and 41°C.The 47°C area is too hot to enter, so we specialize in hot spring baths. There is only one open-air bath, so you can use it when changing genders, but it is quite small so only two people can bathe in it, but it is the warmest and you can take a long bath. There is also one private bath. The manga corner is also well stocked, so I think it's a good place to use as a base in Kusatsu.

A quiet inn with no tourists around. Easy access to Yubatake, 5 minutes walk. The inn is located at the top of a steep hill, but it can be reached by car if there is no snow. You can park your car in front of the inn. There is a forest road that leads from the inn to Shirane Shrine, and it's nice to take a morning walk while looking down at the Yubatake fields. The rooms are Japanese style and the toilets are shared. Perhaps due to the location, there is no air conditioning in the room. There are only 5 washing areas in the bath, but the hot water is definitely piping hot from Kusatsu. Apparently there are also private baths available for small groups.

A hotel in which the Japanese flavor is fully felt.Excellent location - quiet place and literally a minute's walk to the city center and the main Yubatake spring. At the hotel we were given national costumes and we were able to walk around the center in them and take pictures. The hotel has two large public hot spring onsen (baths) and one small private one.The hosts carefully left a thermal kettle and green tea bags with cookies in the room. Here you can order a massage and the massage therapist will come directly to your room. We used this service and were very pleased. We were pleasantly surprised by the bouquets of fresh flowers on the stairs in the hallway and the golden fish swimming in a barrel at the entrance to the hotel.Sleeping on Japanese futons was incredibly comfortable.I recommend it to everyone.P.s. Please note that toilets are shared on the floor. Everything is perfectly clean.

It was a quiet, small ryokan. I liked the hot springs as they were the warmest I've ever been in a ryokan. The bathroom is narrow, so tall people may find it uncomfortable. This is a ryokan where both the room and breakfast are worth the price 😊

My parents were visiting Japan and we decided to take a trip to Kusatsu. We had booked a room without meals. The hotel has a long history and the rooms are therefore a little old, but I found this old charm very pleasant. The hotel is very conveniently located. It's only about a 5-minute walk to Yubatake in the city center. The staff was consistently very friendly and accommodating. At checkout, an employee told me that an employee of the famous Studio Ghibli often stayed at the hotel. We talked a little about this employee (supposedly Hayao Miyazaki painted the face of the cat bus based on this employee's face) and when we were about to head home, we found an envelope with three signed playing cards from this employee - unfortunately I have it Forgotten name - under the windshield wiper of our rental car :)

One of the best Ryokans I've ever stayed in Japan. This is definitely the hidden gem in Kusatsu Onsen as although it is located a bit up in the hill, everything else that comes with this Ryokan are simply amazing. The check in was hassle free, the guy who welcomed us speaks perfect English and was very helpful in giving us some tips, the room was spacious and they made the futon for us when we were outside. The main highlight was the private onsen- no reservation required and we could go anytime we wish (provided no one was using it). The Ryokan was also serene and peaceful, with amazing view from the window, it felt so relaxing. I highly recommend Kirishimaya Ryokan! Don't get discouraged with the reviews of steep hill, as it is really worth it with everything else that this great Ryokan has to offer.
