If you check in around evening, there may be no staff at the front desk, so you can send a check-in email to the hotel. As soon as I sent the automatic response, it told me the lake I would be staying at, so I was able to go in right away. There is only one bathroom on each floor, but because I stayed on the unisex floor, the bathroom was often empty and I was able to wash in a timely manner. Of course, I didn't see anyone else waiting to wash.I think the women-only floor will be crowded in the morning or evening. One thing that was a little inconvenient was that I had to leave my suitcase in the hallway of the room, but the space to put my suitcase away was narrow and the sound made me notice, so I think I was the loudest during my stay.Comb, toothbrush with toothpaste, and towel providedI think this is really good because it is good value for money. And the staff was friendly. I was bored for about an hour after checking out, so I asked the staff if I could stay in the common area on the first floor for a while, and they readily agreed, so I was really grateful.

What can I say it was an excellent spot to be if you want to do things around ueno and Taito City or even going back to the airport.I booked my room off agoda which was fairly cheap. Didn't know what to expect. I did message them early if I could check in earlier which they let me. The staff is amazing here and friendly. It is a 5-10 min walk from ueno station or skyliner if you take that back to nrt airport.Met the staff at the counter and showed my passport and wrote some information.Staff showed me the first floor lounge where you can put food in fridge, drink tea or coffee (free), or get ice. There's a sink, bathroom.Anyways my capsule was on the 2nd floor which had 10 capsule. You can put your luggage or bags or whatever you have on the wall. There is quite a good space inside the capsule. There is 2 bathrooms, 1 shower and washer/dryer. I would recommend waking up early if you are to do stuff in the morning. You can blow dry your hair but after 10am and washer/dryer is the samething.Cool thing about this hotel capsule is there isn't a time you have to leave like other capsules I been to.People that stayed were friendly. The other floors were mix and last floor was females. You are provided with towels, mini towel, toothbrush, shaver and a brush.Definitely would recommend this hotel.Video of me inside the capsule haha

Ueno side is relatively quiet, there is no noise from the city at nightIt only takes about 10 minutes to get back to Ueno JR Station. The personal space of the accommodation is almost large enough to sleep in, and there is also a place to put personal belongings next to it.Bathrooms/restrooms are also cleaned every dayThe washing/drying machine is available from 10:00 to 22:00 (washing powder is free), which is a savior after there are not many clothes.Ameyoko Town is nearby and there is no shortage of food and entertainment. Some minor disadvantages are that some tenants do not move lightly in the middle of the night/open and close the door very loudly. Usually they only show up after they have slept for a day or two.

Stayed about two weeks at the property.+ The staff are friendly and they even let me keep my luggage at the property past my checkout time because I had a late flight.+ Price is excellent and I liked it more than some of the other hostels I have stayed at that were higher priced.+ There are several laundry machines for use, but there is a 24 hour coin laundry facility 2 minutes away, so easy enough either way- Depending on what station you are planning on boarding, it is about a 5-10 minutes walk. The main loop from Ueno station is more on the 10 minute end of things, which is slightly longer than I would prefer, but not a big deal at all.- As other reviews have mentioned, there are a few annoyances such as the bathroom light being motion sensitive instead of just a light switch. Definitely a minor complaint, but it did start to irritate me a little over the course of my stay because you literally have to walk around to reactivate them, hand movement isn't enough.Overall, I highly recommend this property if you are looking to save some money on lodging. Sure, there are a few compromises to be made, but I didn't find any of them to offset the upsides this property provided.

this was my first time at a hostel and it was a good experience. I stayed in Ueno Ryokan Siesta for 6 nights and it was a pleasant experience. The staff are very friendly and can speak Japanese/English/Chinese. Housekeeping is done everyday at 10am when I was there. There are quiet hours from 10pm to 10am (next day). The rooms with the "pods" are very soundproof and people in the lobby cannot be heard which was very surprisingamenities available include toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, daily body bath towels, face towels, coffee, tea, hot water, shared kitchen area, fridge, freezer.Floors are separated and you are either put into a mixed dormitory or gender-specific dormitory.Pods are "open" and are closed with curtains so it's a bit of a gamble with your roommates but everyone is generally very respectful.Luggage storage is available both before check in and after check out.The hallway of the dormitory is used as luggage storage while you are staying there. I would argue that there is a bit of a security risk here since everyone's luggages are exposed to each other and so theft is not impossible. There are security cameras in the hallway so that may help. If you're really worried about other travellers stealing your belongings, you can personally lock your luggage on your own somehow.Location was great for me since it's a 20 minute walk to Akihabara and Asakusa. I like walking so 20 minutes was not a problem for me. There is a train station about 11 minutes via walking.I had a good experience here and won't hesitate to book here again if I'm staying near the area. Really can't complain given the low cost and high value you get out of the hostel.
