When visiting Ueno Zoo, I chose this hotel as the one closest to Bentenmon so I could get in line to see the pandas. Therefore, the location was perfect for us. We got a double room rather than a twin room because we got it at the last minute after Lilly and Shinshin decided to return to Japan. It was so small that I couldn't spread out my luggage and there was only one chair, but this time I made do with it. I was grateful that I was able to get a room. It might be nice to stay in a lake view room (although the price seems a little high) during the lotus season. We had everything we needed and were able to leave our luggage after checkout. The panda pattern in the atrium was cute.

Book the Skyliner train at a discounted price on the Klook website or KKday website, depart from Narita Airport Underground Station and arrive at the final stop, Keisei Ueno Station, in 40 minutes. As soon as you exit the ticket gate, the Family Mart convenience store is right in front of you. When you go out the entrance door, the hotel is right across from you.As expected from a Japanese business hotel, the rooms were small but had everything you needed. In Tokyo, hotels with a total price of less than 100,000 won per night are first-class hotels with outdated interiors (not first or second-class hotels), but this hotel with a total price in the low 100,000 won per night was definitely a second-class hotel. There are various restaurants and shops around Ueno Station, and there are 'Ameyoko Market' and 'Ueno Park', which are like Namdaemun Market in Seoul, so it was great for a walk.If you make a reservation for the next day's breakfast at the hotel front desk in advance, you will get a breakfast buffet for 1,300 yen (11,100 won at the exchange rate as of July 1, 2024), which is 200 yen cheaper. It is a Japanese-style breakfast buffet, not a Western style, and includes rice, soup, grilled fish, curry, ham, sausage, egg roll, salad, and bread. It consists of cereal, yogurt, milk, juice, and coffee, and considering that breakfast buffets at special second-class hotels in Seoul, such as this hotel, cost in the mid-20,000 won range, this breakfast was better and more delicious for guests who were tired of cheap, Western-style breakfasts. It was nice to be able to go to Akihabara, Asakusa, Tokyo Station, Ginza, Roppongi, Shin-Okubo, Shinjuku and Shibuya within 5 to 30 minutes by taking the subway next to the Skyliner train stop. When I travel abroad, I sometimes want to eat Korean food. If I type 'Marukin Ueno' on Google Maps, 'Marukin Handmade Kimchi Shop' appears, and after a 5-minute walk, I arrive at the 'Marukin Food Store' run by Koreans living in Japan. There are all kinds of Korean food, including snacks, ramen, kimchi, salted fish, side dishes, and beer and makgeolli, and it was also nice that there were Korean restaurants next to them, such as Daemun Kyungsung Gyeonggi, Masan館, Haeunji, and SEOUL.If you put a ‘No Clean Up Today’ sign on your room door and leave used towels outside the room door, you can choose not to come in to clean by putting a new towel in a bag and hanging it on the door handle of the room door. It was the best.

Housekeeping was done twice for a 4-night stay, which is reasonable. 7-Eleven and FamilyMart are conveniently nearby. The metro exit is directly across the street. Clean environment. Functional air conditioning. Beautiful view of the park from the window. The TV turning on automatically upon entering the room was quite annoying. We sometimes came back late at night and wanted peace and quiet. The TV lacked a variety of channels, making it nearly pointless. Very narrow space, but this is standard for Tokyo at this price range. The staff who assisted us did not speak English.

10/6.7 Stayed for two daysPersonally I think it’s 100 pointsThe biggest advantage is that it is directly opposite KeiseiIt’s only a 30-second walk from the station, super convenientThis advantage should outweigh everything elsePlus, Ueno drug stores are super cheapSome items in Sundrug are tax-free, just like osdrugNot to mention he also has extra discount couponsFinally, when you are about to leave Tokyo and look at your luggage, you will thinkWhy don't I live in this room...

Dust everywhere in the guest room... books, bookshelves, hair dryer, air purifier, so much dust...The bed making, which I check every time I stay at a hotel, is sloppy. Most of the guests are foreigners due to the location, but you may be disappointed in a Japanese hotel that has a beautiful image.I have stayed at other APA hotels many times, but this was the dirtiest...

Rooms are very small, especially if there are two of you. You have no room for the suitcases. Room was fairly clean, just a pile of dust on the windowsill. The location is great, right next to a beautiful park and station. It was also useful that you could store luggage at the reception using a QR code.
