To be fair, from the perspective of taking pictures, this is the least gorgeous of the four Gassho villages I have been to, but it is also the closest to the original style. Staying here for one night is more rural than staying in the countryside for one night. We stayed at the Gokayama Gassho House, a world heritage site, and it was super cool. Even the bathroom was private XD. A, and it’s a Michelin-starred hotel. The dinner was delicious, and there was cantaloupe at the end of the meal.Ps: This B&B is a Michelin hotel (Zhuang Qi)Pretty? certainly. But maybe it comes more from the perspective of the state of mind.

I applied for a reservation from the website, but it was ignored for a month. Even when I called, I couldn't get through because there was no answering machine during the day. …

I had a wonderful stay at Syoshichi in the sleepy village of Ainokura. One of the most memorable life experiences. We originally tried booking a place at Shirakawago but due to the winter light up event there were no vacancies. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we found ourselves searching for accomodations in Ainokura - which, in my opinion after visiting the 3 main Gassho-style villages, is the best place to stay. Our stay covered dinner and breakfast, cooked by the innkeeper himself. The ingredients are locally sourced and the food was delicious.Around the cottage are ~20 other houses, and there is a lookout point where you can see the entire village. I will let my pictures do the rest of the talking.

Great room, food, and services! Shou-shichi house is really clean and has a nice traditional feel. There’s a hot bath outside, right by the house.Perfect if you want a nice view of gassho-zukuri and a quiet/private spot. The road access to Gokayama is good, and it’s only a 30-minute drive from Shirakawa-go.Booking by email is the way to go. The owner (and his son) is super nice and takes good care of guests.I’ll definitely go back if I get the chance, especially during winter.

I stayed there just the other day.If I had to use the word that's currently popular, I would say it's "the best" to say the least.Delicious food and entertaining stories from the host. The talk about Gokayama was interesting and moving. The rockfish bone wine was also delicious...I ended up drinking too much💦On a bitterly cold night, when I got into the futon to sleep...I found a hot water bottle! ️Remembering my childhood, I felt an indescribable nostalgic feeling. It was a relaxing space that made me completely forget about my busy and time-consuming day-to-day care work. I'm a little lost in Gokayama right now (lol) I definitely want to go there again! ️Let's go!! ️

You can stay in a gassho-style building in the Ainokura village, a world heritage site. |This is a small guesthouse that can only accommodate two groups per day. …

It was said to be over 200 years old, but the interior had been renovated and was very clean, including the plumbing. Dinner was mainly fish and home-grown vegetables, and it was voluminous and very delicious. …

Although Gokayama is difficult to access, it has not become a tourist destination and retains its original rustic gassho-zukuri style. It's amazing that so many things still exist that incorporate the atmosphere of the entire village. It's probably a once in a lifetime experience so I definitely want to stay there.I chose this one after reading the reviews. It was a snowy season and there was no one else to stay, so it was reserved. The buildings are wonderful and the scenery is wonderful, and I think it's a landscape that should be preserved for future generations.Since this is a review of an inn, I feel very uneasy about writing it openly. As soon as we arrived, I saw your mother sitting by the hearth.I don't know if the owner of the inn was her son, but he was cursing and yelling at the mother.I was kind of scared, but when I went home after staying the night.Even when I called out to them, no one was there. The cashier lived there, but I would like to say a final word of greetings and thank you for staying with me.I read it out loud many times, but I was never able to see it again.Well, the bill has already been paid, so if I say it's used, it may be that it's used, but I just wanted to say hello as a Kejime.I traversed all the gassho-zukuri buildings, but what left an impression on me was this inn where I stayed for one night. And these slightly sad memories that come with it.Other inns with museum exhibitsThere were also more old-fashioned inns.I regret that I should have seen it with my own eyes instead of relying on reviews.
