It was as expected. It was a wonderful hospitality. The scenery makes you want to take a photo as soon as you arrive at the inn. And the care of the staff. Everything from the inside of the building to the rooms has been renovated to give you a sense of the times, so you won't feel out of place.I think it's the best in Matsumoto. The food is better than anything. Although it wasn't high quality ingredients, it was carefully prepared and delicious. Also, the white rice for breakfast is so delicious that I think it goes well with sake for dinner. There is no shower in the room, but it's not an inconvenience, and the homemade Japanese sweets and tea are very delicious. In addition to the men's and women's baths, there are also private baths where you can spend a pleasant time. The view was a bit disappointing due to construction in the annex, but it might have been a good thing that there were fewer guests.Next time I would like to stay in the annex. After all, the service is also good. Thank you for providing a mirror when I requested it.

A small and cozy ryokan, with exceptional cuisine. There were bursts of brilliance at dinner, with the fried ebi imo and gingko soup being standouts that could be served at any Tabelog-hyped kaiseki establishment in town. The proprietress has an eye for quality, with soaps that smell amazing, beautiful tableware used during service, and a nice Jura coffee machine in the lounge. Staff try their best to converse in English, which I never expected and fully appreciate. Some small cons:- It would have been nice to have a bigger focus on the onsens (e.g. two different noteworthy baths). Right now, the switching of the male and female baths is perfunctory, since they are horizontally flipped replicas with the exception of the rocks in the pool.- The disposable toothbrush starts to fall apart during use. A higher quality one could be provided.- There’s an awkward height difference between the bedroom and wash area for my room, which I tripped over twice, despite the staff having warned me 😅.But overall, the food and service were so good that I plan on returning.

I used it several times since I first used it over 20 years ago, and I used it for the first time after the main building was renovated. I was very satisfied with the food and hospitality passed down from my predecessors.
