It was a mountain villa near the torii gate of Mt. Asama's trailhead, and there was a free parking lot where several horses were kept.I paid the bathing fee (800 yen) at the front desk and entered the reddish-brown indoor bath. The white towels were dyed red. The water was so warm that it melted away. It was a place rich in nature with auto camping and trailer houses.

camping, cottageThe campground also had a hot spring, so it was nice and cool in the summer. There was a restroom nearby, and the spacing between camping tents protected privacy. It was cheap and nice. There was also a hot spring, so I was able to warm up! !

I went there with my parents when I was a kid. There used to be a triangular lodge (I remember this from 50 years ago)The hot springs are reddish-brown hot water that contains iron and is warm to the touch. The surrounding area is cool and the entrance to Mt. Asama mountain trail is next to the building. There were newly built fancy lodges and trailer houses, and I thought I'd like to stay there. There is also an auto campsite and a kitchen. It takes about 30 minutes by car from Komoro Station.

Thank you for taking care of me on this trip.It is located 1,420m halfway up Mt. Asama, making it difficult to access for tourists. (Great location for mountain climbing)There are no convenience stores, restaurants, or private houses nearby, so it's a great and quiet environment! It was also great to experience a reddish-brown hot spring for the first time. The meals are not luxurious, but they incorporate a lot of wild vegetables and are well seasoned. It's a place I would like to visit again.

Bathing on August 15, 2024At Asama Sanso to celebrate the end of the summer holiday expeditionSorry to bother you.You can reach it by going further off the mountain road and climbing an unpaved road for about 4km.When driving on unpaved roads, be careful not to drive too fast, as a low-slung vehicle may hit you if you are not careful. There are horses tied up next to the parking lot, but it's unclear if you can touch them.If you are a climber, there is also a trailhead for Mt. Asama, so I think you will have to park your car in this parking lot.The most important thing is the hot springs, but there is only one indoor bath. The hot water is reddish brown and cloudy and smells like iron, but it's really thick. It's strange that it doesn't taste like iron.Be careful not to soak the towel in hot water as it will turn brown.I was soaked for less than an hour, but since I was private from beginning to end, I had the most luxurious time. The location is also a cool environment, so you can feel refreshed after taking a bath.It is a superb hot spring that will make you want to come again.4 stars.
