It was a while ago, but I used to go there every summer.There is no hot spring in this area, but there is a large bath in a separate building. This annex is the work of Livio De Marchi, who calls the building itself a ``house of books.''Also, the Mediterranean cuisine is so delicious that you can almost pay for your stay just by eating it.The rooms are not luxurious, but they are clean and beautiful. Families with children will be happy as there is a loft. In the summer, baby insects such as ants inevitably get in, but it didn't bother me.This is an inn where you can enjoy the Mediterranean feel.A quiet and lovely madam will welcome you.

I went there in September 2002. Was it 21 years ago now (2023)?I don't know if the original owner is still running it, but looking at recent Google Maps, it looks like the facility from back then has been well maintained.This pension has a lot of works by Italian sculptors, and the building called ``House of Books'' itself is a work of art, and the gate has glasses, so it's fun to look at.The location is in Minami Izu, in the middle of Shirahama Beach in ancient times and Nakagi in recent times, and it is a quiet place. I went there by car, but if you use public transportation, you will be severely restricted by bus schedules.(If you're driving, the parking lot is huge, so it's totally fine)Because of its location, you can spend your time looking at the art or looking out at the ocean through the windows, and just relax.
