Botchinomori Camping Ground

It was a quiet campsite on a clean, well-maintained mountain. It was a surprise that the donkey came to play, and the child was very happy. Since we were a family, it was better to stay close to the square so the kids could run around. If you want to hang out with friends, I thought the Mori Camp area would be better. It was nice to be able to take a quiet walk around the campsite. The air was clean and I was able to relax. There seemed to be a windmill nearby, so it didn't really bother us, just that if you listened closely you might be able to hear it. It was hot in mid-July, but the nights were cool so I needed a towel blanket. A perfect escape from the heat. I was traveling from England, so I had some fun memories of Japan.

[The donkey liked it]When I drove back from shopping in the morning, I saw a donkey eating grass. For some reason, one of them ran toward the car from a distance and greeted me through the window.After that, as I was about to walk to the kitchen, the donkey from earlier came running towards me again. It's incredibly friendly.It was quiet.The staff were also kind.The road is quite difficult.

Each site was isolated and I was able to relax. The place we set up was a little far from the main area (H~), but there was an indoor kitchen and toilets (one large and one small) so we didn't feel inconvenienced.

The campsite was located quite deep in the mountains and was very quiet.The site I stayed at was an SE site, so the distance from the neighbor was quite empty so I didn't have to worry about it.The manager was also kind and I was able to spend a relaxing time.As for the path, it's a campsite in the mountains, so it's best to drive carefully.

I used it at the end of the year. The area near the plaza is clean and has good access to water and restrooms. The mountain area is quite far from water sources and restrooms, and the streets are pitch black at night, so solo travelers and women will feel safer at sites near the plaza. The site design on the plaza side was very beautiful.

We stayed here on a weekday in mid-December with two people who are new to auto camping. There was only one other group on this day, so we were able to spend a relaxing time.The site used is C. We have selected a site that is not affected by strong winds and is safe for beginners.There is a detailed explanation of each site on the Nappu reservation page, so you can have fun choosing one without worrying about it. With deck sites, sites with a sense of openness, sites with a sense of privacy, etc., there are sites that satisfy a wide variety of tastes on a vast land, making it a campground that you will want to visit again and again. The starry sky you can see at night is sure to impress.When it gets dark, the warm colored lights light up and create a great atmosphere. It brightened up my hands and was very helpful. It disappears around 9pm, so it won't interfere with stargazing.The toilets are very clean with western style flushing. The sink is large and there are shower facilities. Garbage and ash can be picked up free of charge. Firewood is sold at the reception for 500 yen/bundle.The price is 4,000 yen (basic weekday fee of 3,000 yen (C site) + 1,000 yen for each additional person). Campgrounds in the Izu area have an image of being expensive, but I thought the prices were reasonable.[About C site]It was a windy day with an average wind speed of about 10m, but the mountains blocked it and we were able to make a bonfire without being affected too much. The dirt ground is neatly leveled, and there is a plaza in front of you, giving you a sense of freedom. Conveniently located near the toilet and sink. The road is narrow, but I think it's easier to park than other sites.I was worried about choosing a deck site, but since it seems like people will be very careful not to burn the bonfire, I made the right decision to choose an earth site. Sites A to C are right below the deck site, so if there are people on the deck site, you might be concerned about the view from above 😅There was some noise from the windmills, but it didn't bother me much.I felt that if you have a large car or are not used to driving, you might have a hard time accessing and navigating the campsite, but once you get through that, it's a very comfortable campsite.

If you look at Google maps, there is a natural burial (scattering of ashes in Satoyama) a little above (about 300m) from here...I wonder what it is.There is a windmill about 300m below, and the ground is exposed, so what can you do with it?

It's best if you don't even think about getting noticed.The wind power generation blades that can be glimpsed add to the atmosphere. When it rains, it may be difficult to use a tent because the clay is made of clay.

Although there are few convenient facilities, you can choose from a variety of sites suitable for solo camping and family camping.
