I used it when climbing the Southern Alps. There is a restriction that you cannot ride the bus to Sawashima unless you stay at a mountain hut (including Sawashima Lodge) in the special Tokai Forest. When I actually used it, it had the atmosphere of an old resort deep in the mountains, with private rooms with air conditioners and TVs, flush toilets, baths, a cafeteria, and vending machines. Personally, I was happy to be able to take a shower during the day (500 yen).

I stayed here after descending from Mt. Mt. The rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. Baths are open until 8pm. It's more comfortable if you put it in the morning. Check out is early at 8am. It might be more comfortable if you can wait until the bus leaves. The person at the hostel said, ``I'm sorry.''

I used it the night before climbing. Overall I think it's not good enough for the price.The atmosphere of the lodge is like a worker's dormitory. The food is on the same level as in a mountain hut. The location is deep in the mountains, so I'm not looking for that much, but I would expect more if it was accessible by road.If you are accessing by Shizutetsu bus, you will not have time to shop or eat until here after leaving Shizuoka Station at 10am. The rest house was closed even after arriving at the lodge, and even after opening at 4pm, there was only alcohol and soft-serve ice cream available.

2024.7.19 Used the night before (staying in a tent) before traversing from Mt. Hijiri to Mt. Akaishi. I think it took me less than 3 hours to cycle 16.7km from Numadaira Gate. For 2,000 yen, you can also use the tent and bath. I was also able to buy Igawa Fisheries Cooperative recreational fishing tickets. Since I took the trouble to climb a mountain, I had to go fishing as well.
