At Sapunaya, we were delighted by several standout features. First and foremost, the hotel's location was truly exceptional, making it easy to explore and enjoy the surrounding area.The hotel exudes charm and character, which added to the overall appeal. It felt like staying in a place with a unique personality.One of our favorite aspects was the private garden, providing a serene and secluded space to unwind and enjoy some quiet moments.The spacious suite we stayed in was a welcome surprise, offering plenty of room to relax and spread out during our stay.On the downside, one unexpected drawback was the choice of top sheets made from terry fabric, which felt more like sleeping in bath towels. Given the price of the room, we had anticipated proper cotton sheets. If we had stayed longer, we would have considered requesting a more comfortable bedding option.In summary, Sapunaya offers a charming and spacious retreat with a fantastic location, although there is room for improvement when it comes to bedding comfort.

I stayed here for 2 years in a row. The room is large and comfortable. There are enough facilities. The tree house was also wonderful. Breakfast included bread, cheese, and juice. If there is space, you can also rent a bicycle for 1000 yen per day.As of August 2023, proof of a negative antigen test was required before accommodation. It was very helpful to receive detailed information about transportation methods, ferries, and places to eat on Taketomi Island during our communication before our stay.This is an inn that I would definitely like to visit again.

2022,0707-08, 2 people stayed in the Hibiscus room.When I told him the time of arrival on Taketomi Island, he came to pick me up at the port! (thank you)The welcome fruit you receive at check-in is exquisite!Also, the breakfast bread (maybe homemade?) was very delicious!Personally, eating breakfast on a bench outside was special 🫶Although the room didn't have a TV, I felt like I was falling asleep as the sun set, and I had a wonderful and luxurious time.Most shops on the island itself close between 7pm and 8pm.I go to bed when the sun sets and wake up when the sun rises.It was a two night stay where I felt like I was able to stay healthier than usual.I think the number of bicycles is limited, but you can rent them!Of course, if you let us know, we will also take you to the port when you check out. (I'm really grateful)This is a recommended accommodation for consecutive nights! ! ! !I would like to stay at this inn again when I go to Taketomi Island.I forgot to take a photo, but it's the same as someone else's photo✨

I used the Hibiscus room by myself in early October 2022. The room was comfortable and sufficient for one person. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the owner was very considerate and the sense of distance was perfect, making it very comfortable for me as I wanted to spend time alone. When I checked in, I was given information and maps about restaurants where I could eat, but since many of them were closed on days that coincided with festivals, I was able to find out which restaurants were open and gave me additional information, which was very helpful. (Because there was no online information about local shops)The hibiscus room had its own entrance and exit, making it easy to enter and exit. There was a washing machine you could borrow and a place to dry your clothes. There was an electric kettle, refrigerator, microwave, and simple tableware, so I was able to spend my time without any inconvenience. The breakfast bread provided was very delicious. It was a great time to take a walk with breakfast to the beach and enjoy the view of the calm sea in the early morning.I promise to visit again. I will use it again in that case.

It was a couple working together and it was very friendly and nice. The room was spacious and the facilities were new and comfortable. There is also a handmade deck in the garden, giving it a resort feel.Please let me use you again. Thank you for your help.

Sapunaya is a wonderful gem of a place in Taketomi. The location is perfect. It’s a short walk to Kondoi beach and the West pier.The hosts are kind and attentive. I had no trouble communicating with them to arrange my stay beforehand.The room was cozy, just right for me. I wish I could go back to Sapunaya soon!

The owner does not have common sense towards his business. Arrogant attitude and not listen guest’s requests. I’ve never being asked to pay full amount as deposit but he requested to pay during this circumstances. I asked if I can pay credit card upon arrival as statement on official HP then he upset and rejected my booking. He ignored my all messages afterwards.
