We enjoyed everything about this place! The guesthouse had everything we needed, the kitchen is well equipped, it is all very clean. The area with hammocks on the beach is beautiful and we especially enjoyed the kayaks we were able to use. By kayak we explored the mangrove forest and discovered secluded beaches. It was just magical! The host was very welcoming and helpful! A highlight was the hike through the jungle we did together with the host. We can highly recommend this place.

This is a slice of paradise. Though we weren't worried when we booked, Takamichi-san's small beachside cottage exceeded all of our expectations.Its clean, modern, and incredibly well located. 20 meters from a private secluded beach with crystal clear water, there is nothing to complain about.I'd be lying if I said this wasn't the best Airbnb I've ever stayed in. Takamichi-san is a fantastic host. Both he and his family made us feel very welcome and brought us several small local delicacies throughout our stay. He speaks great English as well as Japanese and has been living in Iriomote for 20 years, making him a local expert.I was hesitant to write this review, just because I wish I could keep this place private, but they deserve all the praise.Do not think twice about booking this. It is worth it.

I cannot say enough about this little slice of heaven. It felt like home, thanks to the host and his family. Everything needed in in the apartment including bikes, and a kayak. We brought our own snorkel equipment. It is fairly remote, we brought our own groceries, but there is a small grocery store, and restaurants within about a 5 minute bike ride, and others that are accessible by car. The beach is 1 minute from the apartment. If you are considering this place, do it! You will love it. We plan to return!

Best experience ever !We took 10 days holidays there and we enjoyed so much our staying! Especially for these points :- Good localisation near all the good spots of Iriomote- Only 10 meters from a wonderful beach- Very good view on the sunset- Good house with all necessary equipments- Very nice owner- The owner also let at your disposition kayak and bicycle.- He can also take you for a jungle trekking or canyoning or river trekking. He is one of the people in the island who knows the jungle the best.- Situated in a traditional village. Not so many people live there, and almost no tourist. If you like peaceful place, this place is paradise. Also, people are nice.We definitely recomand this place and if we come back in Iriomote it is sure that we will come back here!

If my family and I had known how wonderful Kunganipi would be, we would have spent our entire holiday there. The location is idyllic. The apartments are modern and well equipped. The hospitality of the host, Takamichi-san, was outstanding. I was not sure what to expect from Iriomote and Kunganipi when I booked, but having experienced them, I know I will be be back. Arigato gozaimashita Takamichi-san. Mate ne.

Private, clean room with balcony right next to a beautiful bay. The owner is very reliable and knowledgeable about the island, so helps you with any of your needs including renting a car. It’s truly a paradise there.

The inn was really close to the beach, quiet and surrounded by greenery. The room was very carefully maintained and had everything I needed, so I felt very relaxed and stress-free. I really recommend it.

Excellent experience, 2 nights spent at Kuganipi, we would have liked to stay longer. The location is perfect, a stone's throw from the beach, in a magnificent setting and a small village full of charm. The room is spacious, pleasant and well equipped, the futons are very comfortable. Our host, Takamichi San, provides excellent advice and did everything to make our stay unforgettable. Iriomote Island is definitely worth a visit for nature enthusiasts. We hope to be able to return to Kuganipi soon.

A home that feels like you've moved into a new home.You will want to remodel it to your liking and settle there.The beach in front of the beach is fortunately free from floating trash from neighboring countries.The owner is nonchalant and is good at keeping his distance.I keep my own pace and hope this style continues.
