Amazing hostel! It felt so cozy and like a place you can feel at home. It’s a small hostel with 1 dorm and 2 private rooms. Very kind hosts, and if you’re Bikepacking, a great place to stop as the owner is also a cyclist. Highly recommend!

So far it's my favourite hostel in Japan! The location is good ....It is in a small but cute village and the train station is only 5min away. It's easy to go to the places where you can see Mt. Fuji or climb it if you come for that. You have a big supermarket right next to the train station and a family mart next to the hostel. The owner is very nice and helpful 😊! The hostel itself is small but very cozy and it feels more like living in a house with your friends than in a hostel with strangers. There is also a small kitchen with everything you need. I recommend this hostel and would definitely come back when I'm in Japan! 😊

Stayed for 5 nights in February 2024. Thanks to the owner, Kousei-san, I am leaving with a lot of wonderful memories. If it weren't for Tsubame no Yado, I would have lived my whole life without knowing Kanbara. Clean accommodation, the scent of cedar inside, conversations with fellow guests, the small but quiet and warm atmosphere of Kanbara Village, and the friendly residents.As the name of the guest house is called Swallow (Tsubame), I hope to go back again. It's not far to go to Shizuoka or Fujinomiya by train, and there are convenient facilities such as restaurants, konbini (family mart), beer brewery, and Aeon Mall in the village, so it wasn't inconvenient.Above all, the accommodation is clean (the shower room and toilet are especially clean) and Kousei-san, who renovated the old house himself, took good care of it and helped me get to know the neighborhood well, so it has a different charm from traveling to tourist attractions.Highly recommended.

I enjoyed my stay so much in this hostel! Though it’s located in a small town, transportation is very convenient and you can get around in no time. There’s a convenience store around the corner and a big supermarket just a 10 min. walk away. The rooms are spacious and has everything you need.The owner, Kosei, is super attentive and kind, which made my stay even better.Would definitely recommend!

This was by far my favourite stay on my Japan trip. The hostel is incredibly comfortable and peaceful located in a small, quiet village. The owners are very kind and easy to communicate with. I was welcomed by the owner’s wife, who was very kind and spoke English well, so it was easy to communicate even though I don’t speak any Japanese. I got clear instructions on how to check in, what to do in the area, etc. What really stood out is how incredibly clean the hostel was. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, as was the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with rice, tea, sauces available for use. The convenience store is literally next to the hostel, so it was also easy to buy groceries and there was a microwave, rice cooker, hob and kettle all available in the hostel. The shower was great (amazing water pressure) and they had towels, as well as other cosmetic products available at the reception. The beds were large and comfortable and the room was a good size. Overall, I could not have imagined a better stay and for the price, it was definitely worth it. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I highly recommend this hostel!

Tsubame-no-juku has been on my mind ever since I first visited the small morning market held once a month in the parking lot of the inn. This time I finally stayed one night with my husband. The room had a tatami bunk bed, and it was spacious enough to have a futon, so I was able to sleep comfortably.The common space was decorated with tables and chairs in calm tones, and the shower room was very clean and comfortable. The space was very nice both in appearance and interior.There are convenience stores and old folk cafes within walking distance of the inn, so you won't have any trouble finding a meal.Above all, the owner and his wife's unpretentious personalities were very nice! ! Thanks to you, I had a fulfilling holiday.I would like to visit again soon around the time of the cherry blossom festival♪thank you very much! !

Had a wonderful time! Beautiful little rooms. Owners are wonderfully friendly and accommodating! Could've stayed for a week! 30 second walk to convenience stores and restaurants. The Nepalese restaurant does great food.

It was a place where the calm streets of Kambara were slowly created and a nice breeze flowed through.I stayed there yesterday, and the atmosphere of the inn wasJust like the atmosphere of Kambara, it's a quiet space where you can relax as time passes by, and the owner, Mr. Kosei, and his family were very kind and took good care of us.When I woke up in the morning and opened the window of my room, I saw a stray cat in the garden of the inn.I was taking a walk.I really like the atmosphere and atmosphere, and that day is the only timeA chill-out time where you can only feel it.The town and inn had an atmosphere that could create that.Repeat.Thank you very much.

Excellent boutique hostel, extremely clean. The owner Kosei claims his hobby is cleaning and I can believe it!I went here as a base to take photos of Fuji, which proved fruitful.

The scent of tatami and wood was soothing.The common spaces are clean and well appointed.You can also use the shower comfortably.During our stay, we ate at Tsubame, a candy shop run by the owner's wife, and Kaeru no Niwa, where you can eat delicious bread, as well as at a liquor store recommended by the owner and his wife.Even though the city is not a tourist destination, I had a very satisfying stay.This is a recommended place to stay when visiting Shizuoka.Highly recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing time.

It's a hostel so you have to share the kitchen, bathroom and restrooms with other guests, but everything is so clean and organized, that you feel at home right away. We really loved staying here. The rooms have bunk beds with tatami mates, which are really comfortable. Kosei, the host, is so friendly and caring. He told us about a small matsuri (local japanese festival) the next day in which we participated and that was so interesting and so much fun. We were actually sad, we just booked this accommodation for just two nights. On our next visit in Japan, we will definitely come again to this hostel.

We had a wonderful time at the Hostel. Kosei and his family made us feel very welcome and was extremly helpful. The hostel is so charming with little details and has everything you need. A big supermarket is in walking distance.

It's easy to access Shizuoka Station, Shimizu Station, and Numazu Station, so I think it's a great location for sightseeing in Shizuoka. There was a supermarket in front of the station, and the road to the hotel wasn't far.The exterior was very cute, and the room was so spacious that you wouldn't believe it was a dormitory. The bed was firm and I didn't have any problems even if the person on the top bed moved or got off. The common space was also very clean and stocked with kitchen supplies. There are two desks, so some people read books or studied here. Also, the shower and toilet were very clean. We only stayed for one night, but when we asked about the late check-in time, they kindly agreed to our request and took care of us in a courteous manner.

I used it for one night and two days.This is a small inn that was renovated from an old private house, and the rooms have handmade furniture and a nice wood scent. There's a cool swallow on the wall! !I felt nostalgic, like I was visiting my grandmother's house in the countryside.There are restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance, which is very convenient.I would like to stay there again!
