Location is good, but the hotel service is quite disappointing and not deserving 4 stars. Breakfast is not buffet but fixed menu with a tray you receive at the table. The staff seems distracted and absent so it is hard to get their attention to be served breakfast. The toilette has a kind of moquette flooring so it is a bit dirty.

After experiencing 5 other amazing hotels throughout our holidays, we arrived to Agora in Kyoto to a dirty room. Even the daily cleans haven’t been great. Also, there’s always litter in the corridors. Breakfast is microwaved and underwhelming (hashbrowns still frozen). Coffee and waffles are ok.

For a 4 star it is really overrated, small rooms with a sink in the room, carpet-like floors with the bathroom stained with pee and dust everywhere. The staff has perhaps one person who speaks English, at least during my stay, and obviously you don't find her 24/7 as expected. Employees who after asking for breakfast, because they bring you a small tray after telling them the room, forget to bring it. Espresso coffee ultra expensive than average and not included in breakfast. a good point is that it provides the laundry, the problem is that people then leave their things there for hours after they have finished and some employees (having the possibility of opening other people's washing machines because it makes you set a password) go to opening it after numerous requests reluctantly and huffing. A travel agency booked our overnight stay here and we told them about our experience and they rightly placed this hotel on a black list. It deserves 2 or 3 stars only for not knowing how to communicate with the customer except via Google translate. NOT RECOMMENDED

I will never stay at this hotel again.First of all, the customer service attitude of the receptionist was the worst. I don't think he was new because he wasn't young. First of all, when I entered, I was glanced at, didn't smile or say anything, and ignored me. Maybe he was busy, but I don't know anything about that situation. When I went to the reception area and left my luggage, I never looked at them, and the number tag was placed on an iPad on the desk so I could take it off. When paying by credit card (separate from the person at the reception desk), when taking out the card, the customer roughly takes it out with one hand and then hands it over again with the other hand. Why is it so messy when it's someone else's credit card? It's not your card, is it? The people who seem to be on the side of training new employees...Also, regarding the room, I paid 20,000 yen per person and was disappointed in how small it was. And the vent under the sink? I don't know what it is, but something like a lid has come off and it's exposed. It wasn't worth staying for 2 nights. I would never stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone. I should have looked into it more. Also, maybe because the walls are thin, you can hear the noise from the neighbors and the hallway. Also, the toilet at the front desk was extremely dirty and smelly. If this continues, my trip will turn into a disaster, so I will erase my memories of this place. I hope no one else has to go through such a sad experience. The only good thing was the location. Goodbye👋

Filthiness. The staff's lack of motivation. If you don't want to have the same unpleasant experience as I did before, there are many more convenient hotels in Kyoto with better locations and services. …
