(Former resident, 2014-2015)Convenient, affordable, and homey with a fantastic garden and spacious view of Yokohama.Having had the chance to stay here was an absolutely lovely opportunity that I still recall with the utmost level of happiness. My time in Yokohama was made brighter exactly because of the warmth and freedom that staying at Sakura Garden provided me.There are 6 rooms, 4 on the bottom floor with entry into the sunroom and another 2 on the upper floor which are slightly larger, but without that sunroom access. Shared but very large kitchen with ample supplies and a deep sink make it easy to go for communal meals with housemates or friends. Two toilets and a shared shower/bath area make for a very cozy time. The owner, Shuji, also has his office and home attached to the building, so it is easy to pay rent or grab him for any necessities. He also holds barbecues, flower viewings, and jazz parties throughout the year which he invites his guests to participate in.Sakura Garden is especially welcoming to long-term guests, but often houses short term rentals as well. While the hill it sits on can be intimidating, once it has become part of your daily routine it becomes just another part of life.A full service grocery store is less than 10 minutes walk up the road, and a convenience store is directly at the bottom of the hill and across the street, making any late night cravings or forgotten dinners easily obtainable.Directly on the bus line to Kami-ooka station, but a mere 15 minute walk to the actual station.
