I stayed with a group. Everyone was bitten by a tick. I got stung in 15 places and it was the worst.

I stayed here on a company trip for a small company. The room was spacious and clean and very nice. The food was also reminiscent of Kyoto, and I felt like I had eaten Japanese food for the first time in a while. However, my co-workers said that it was a shame that they didn't have a hot spring. The bathroom in the room had a large window and felt like a new unit bath, so it was very clean and nice.I wish there were amenities for after bathing.

Plenty nice guest house. It lacks some of the charm of smaller guest houses but likely a good option if you want to stay away from the madness closer in town

I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The inside of the building feels a little old, but it was well kept. The garden that can be seen from the room has an elegant atmosphere, and although the bath is a little small, it has a feeling of openness and is comfortable. Dinner was a kaiseki meal, but the portion was large. The taste was delicious.

Although this ryokan was a little further away from the city center, my bf and I had no regrets. They had a free shuttle bus to the city but my bf and I used the local bus most of the time! Honestly we were so sad to leave when our time came to check out. The staff is wonderful, the room is beautiful, the food was incredible. Will definitely be coming back. Truly felt like a magical escape from the busy world.

Literally everything about this place has been absolutely amazing. We got the tatami floor room with a bath and a view. The room is huge, the bathtub is huge, and the futons are more comfortable than expected. The view is beautiful too!I go in and out a lot to smoke, so I like that the smoking section is close to the entrance. But every time I walk by the front desk I am greeted with nothing but happiness and smiles. I have felt sooooo welcome here. The private Onsen was super nice and clean too! The location is pretty far away from anything so be prepared to spend a lot on taxis. But I knew that coming here. I'm happy it's on the super outskirts of Kyoto. It's so quiet up here in the mountains compared to the center of the city. This was the perfect way to end our trip in Japan. There's also lots of temples within walking distance to see! They even held our luggage for us on the first day so we could explore. Then our luggage was waiting for us in the room when we walked in!The place has really good wifi too!ItThis was a definite 10/10.

I used it on my first trip with my husband.Although it is a little far from Kyoto Station, it was a very quiet and comfortable place to stay. There was a shuttle bus to the nearest station and Kinkakuji, which was very helpful. The room had a private bath, and we had dinner in the room. It was very delicious and I received a lot of it, but I'm sorry I couldn't finish it all.(The side dishes were delicious, but the rice was delicious)The futon was soft and we had a good night's sleep, and my wife and I were very satisfied with our stay.I will use it again.
