I stayed in room B.Overall it was very good, but I am writing my thoughts with hopes that it will be even better.Room B is a two-story maisonette. It's cutely made. However, many years have passed and it is old. It was difficult to open and close the closet door. The light bulb in the dressing room was out. The walls of the changing room were dark. There was a paper on the wall with the ingredients of the hot springs written on it, but the frame was broken and it was in tatters. There were no hooks to hang the bathrobe, so I had trouble finding a place to put it. It was a shame that the toiletries provided were minimal and poor quality.I was surprised to see that the windows on the second floor were covered in dirt. The view from the room was blocked by overgrown tree branches. In addition, there is information such as meal times at the beginning, but since everything is explained orally, I wish they would have given it on paper as well. The breakfast menu had miso soup with sea lettuce and clams, but there were no clams in it.Even though the building is many years old, there are still some areas that can be improved upon. Although it is not the highest-ranked room, it costs about 40,000 yen per person. I thought I should try harder.

Revisiting GWThis time, I stayed at Villa C, which was introduced by Kundo Koyama in "Famous Inns of Taste." It feels so special and the food is amazing❗Kundo Koyama had previously been highly praised in a magazine called ``Famous Inns of Taste,'' so I was finally able to meet him at an inn that I had always wanted to visit. Since it is a villa type, it gives you a feeling of privacy, and as you take a leisurely bath while looking out at the spectacular view of the East China Sea from the open-air bath with natural hot spring water, you can hear the chirping of nightingales and feel that you are surrounded by nature, which makes it very relaxing. I did. I had my meals in a private room in the restaurant building, so I felt safe because they had taken proper measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. (However, the view from the window was not so good, and I was very disappointed that the car was parked in a parking lot instead of the sea.)We ate local Amakusa ingredients such as Amakusa Daio chicken, Amakusa black beef, sea bream, and raw sea urchin. First of all, I had the sea bream rice as is, and then added some sea bream shabu-shabu soup to it and added the sea bream chazuke to give it a different taste. I was impressed by all the staff's courteous customer service. One thing worth mentioning is the aroma oil massage therapist who came to my room after dinner and gave me a massage that was very skillful and relieved me of my daily fatigue.Although Amakusa is not close to Nagoya, it was a wonderful inn that made me want to come back again. I would like to stay in another villa next time😃

My family of five used it during the Obon holidays. The room was on two floors and the children were very happy. It was fun to see the attention to detail in the interior. It was a hot season, so the warm open-air bath was nice. The local fish for both dinner and breakfast was very delicious and the quantity was satisfying. The directions from the parking lot entrance are thorough and I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

It was literally a luxury inn that was a hideaway. You can see the ocean, so you can spend a very relaxing time, but the roads are narrow and this may be a problem for those who are worried about driving.thank you

I stayed in Building C. I spent some time on the terrace next to the restaurant around dusk, and the contrast between the twilight sky and the East China Sea, and the view changing in slow motion, was impressive. I feel like I was able to spend some precious time that I had forgotten for a long time. The open-air bath surrounded by nature was truly amazing! The water has a slightly thick and soft spring quality that leaves your skin feeling smooth. It's good to have it flowing naturally at any time you like.

This ryokan offered the ultimate in privacy and enchantment for my family. The highlight of our room was definitely the outdoor bath- a rock pool surrounded by natural lush vegetation.Dinner was fantastic with many courses of locally sourced seafood and vegetables. The breakfast on the terrace was refreshing and tasty. Our dedicated server was witty and charming, despite not speaking English.Aki, the manager went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for my family's visit. The small gift shop was full of locally created art and pottery- the perfect place to find a unique souvenir from Amakusa.

I visited there the other day with two friends. I was really looking forward to it because I had heard that it was a kaiseki restaurant in Amakusa, but even though it was a slightly expensive hotel, I was served an 8-inch plastic one. At this price point, I thought it would be served in an 8-inch lacquered bowl or something like that. The food didn't feel homemade, had no color, and was cold, and the sea bass in particular had hardened gelatin, giving no sense of the chef's care. The simmered pumpkin and kelp rolls looked like they were made with frozen osechi dishes. The grilled food, chicken and fish didn't feel fresh, and there were no garnishes, so I was just disappointed. The sashimi was probably cut after the breakfast was prepared, so it stuck together and I didn't feel the freshness or strength of the ingredients at all. The fried food was fried sea bream. I don't think helmets are bad, but I don't think they should be served at kaiseki. I would also like them to be more considerate about grilled and fried foods, such as assorting fresh vegetables from Amakusa. The final meal was the second squid that came out for sashimi and dry egg yolk. Dessert was also a dry mousse with bruised strawberries. Overall, there was nothing that felt like it was in season or the quality of the ingredients was good. I wonder what the chef was thinking and what he wanted to convey to the customers, which was very disappointing. They are not particular about the dishes and I don't think it is worth the price. Why not change from kaiseki to kaiseki? The light bulb in the room was also out. The light bulb at my feet on the way to dinner was also burnt out and I thought it was dangerous. When I looked up in the lounge, two or three light bulbs were burnt out. Just being cool is not enough. It doesn't matter how much you explain it in words. I think it's the feeling and action of welcoming guests. It was a really disappointing stay.

An inn on the west coast of Shimojima in the Amakusa Islands. This facility can be said to be one of the original designer inns, with all rooms equipped with open-air baths. The food is also of a high standard. Even more than the guest rooms, I was left with a lasting impression on the beautiful statue of Mary at the end of the hallway of the Jashumon restaurant.

I visited him for the first time in 10 years. Last time, I had a very good impression of the food, so I visited again. This time we went to Villa C, which is the most expensive, but it had a strong feeling that it was not well maintained. First of all, you cannot see the East China Sea because it is blocked by trees that are growing all the time. The interior also felt deteriorating over time.I am very sorry for the review of the food, but it was very disappointing as I couldn't believe that it was prepared by a professional chef despite the high accommodation fee.Villa C is located at the highest point, and the road is narrow and has steep climbs and turns. If you have a large vehicle, please be careful when driving on mountain roads.Since the inn is located in such a wonderful location, I would like to make it something that I would want to come back to again.
