I stayed overnight without meals in mid-May. My room was called Tsubaki, which was on the second floor, and the afternoon sun was so strong that it felt oppressive as soon as I entered the room. The setting sun was too bright (shoji screens), so although the room was small, I had no place to stay, so I took shelter in a corner of the room. I turned on the air conditioner, but although it was turned on, it wasn't working as an air conditioner at all. (It seems like the air conditioner is malfunctioning.) I wanted to open the windows since all the sides were windows, but there were no screens and there were insects flying outside, so I gave up on opening the windows. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem in other rooms, but I thought I needed to be careful in this room. In fact, there were other nice rooms. The walls are thin and you could hear the neighbors snoring at 9pm. ←I think it can't be helped since it's an old traditional inn. . There are two toilets on the 1st floor. There is only one bath, which can be rented out on a rotating basis. There was also a hair dryer. There is a refrigerator on the 1st floor, so I was able to store plastic bottles and breakfast items. There was also a microwave and toaster. There are places where you can eat dinner nearby.

You can stay in a historic building that is classified as a cultural property for a low price of around 10,000 yen, and the food is delicious and tasteful. On the other hand, there are undeniable inconveniences due to aging buildings and cost cutting efforts. Because its condition is far different from that of many ``ordinary inns,'' it is not something that will appeal to everyone, but rather tests the knowledge and imagination of the guests. The charm and flaws of an inn, which remain in your memory tens of thousands of times more memorable than a normal, uncharacteristic night, are what make an inn that you wish it would remain like forever, as a flavor that adds color to your travels.

First of all, it's dark overall, so it's not suitable for people who don't like that.I also keep the sounds of cleaning being done in the middle of the night. Not being considerate. There are days when I clean my room and days when I don't. Even if it's okay to give up a hundred steps, they don't tell customers that they have to do it, which is very troubling. The baths are not separated for men and women, and there are no set times for bathing, so if it gets crowded, you may have to wait more than an hour.By the way, there were only two groups staying that day, so it took us this long. There were days when there were bath towels and other days when there weren't, and I thought about asking the staff for one, but no one was there at night so I couldn't get one.In terms of security, there is no lock to lock the room from the outside, so anyone can just walk in. It's dangerous because anyone can enter from outside. There is only one washing machine, so it takes a long time if it's crowded.Drying your clothes indoors is prohibited, so you have to dry them in a designated area, but anyone can go there, so I think women especially don't like it.It's too dark at night to go out to dry, and I can't even take it in.

In terms of cost performance, it's one of the best places I've stayed at so far. Although the outside looks old, the interior of the room has been renovated and was comfortable. I was worried that the room didn't have a bathroom, but I didn't have to worry about it because the bathroom could be reserved for groups. The meals and business plan are like Jyubako, so Japanese food was served and it was very delicious.

The furnishings in the room have a time-honored atmosphere (the emperor stayed there). The screen in the small Japanese-style dining room is an ukiyo-e painting by Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi. I heard that the owner is a descendant of a samurai. He studied cooking in Kyoto (?) for many years. Every dish in the cuisine tastes very layered in taste. If you like the feeling of old hotel times, don’t miss it! (The room smells like cigarette smoke, and the toilet on the first floor smells bad. I think this is inevitable in old buildings)
