Although the facility is old, the food is sophisticated, unique, and delicious (many local inns serve more than you can eat). There is also a fish shop on the first floor, which is based on Japanese kaiseki, but along the way you will find a Spanish dish of jamon serrano and figs, as well as homemade (sometimes not) desserts and pickles. Delicious. The bath does not seem to be a hot spring, but you can relax in the family bath. The facility is a bit retro, so the toilets and washrooms are separate from the rooms, but I think they have taken precautions against the coronavirus. The surrounding area is a quiet old post town, and since Imajyo is also a soba restaurant, there are some delicious soba restaurants nearby. For those who like alcohol, there is also a brewery. It's almost never crowded, so it's recommended for a leisurely trip for adults. The souvenir shop at Imajyo Station is also a hidden gem.

This is Kawabataya in Imajō-juku, an important preservation district for groups of traditional buildings. It is run by a friendly couple, and their personalities are reflected in both the accommodation and the food. We also recommend taking home sushi.

The food is elegant and very delicious, and above all, the staff are cheerful, energetic, and very comfortable. The Echizen crab dish was extremely delicious.I also took some pressed sushi home with me, and it was extremely delicious and had a perfectly rare texture. My 1-year-old daughter seemed to like it too, and ate it up.
