I searched a week before Obon and found no seats available so I made a reservation. I came here with no expectations at all, but it was very good! All the employees are very hospitable and very nice people. Although the building and rooms are old, they are well-cleaned, the shoji screens, tatami mats, and fixtures are clean, and the dinner was delicious with a large selection of items, so I had a very comfortable stay.Inns like this can be very hit or miss, but I think this one is very good ✨I wanted it to stay like this for a long time.

Since it's local, it's mainly used for banquets. This is a highly recommended inn where both the food and the hot springs (sodium-sulfate/chloride hot springs) are above standard.(Evaluation is based on personal preference)

*I am writing my impressions as a travel memo. The parking lot is gravel, there are stairs inside the inn, and the rooms are small, so it's best to bring light and light luggage. This may not be the place to stay if you think of it as an ordinary inn. It's best to think of it as a ``retro inn where you can enjoy the inconveniences''. It's too inconvenient if you're used to other hotels and inns. However, if you go there thinking that there is nothing, you may be impressed and realize that there is quite a lot. However, if you are concerned about sound leakage or shaking, you may want to stop using it.The employees are warm and kind. It's inconvenient, but it's somehow soothing. This time I stayed without meals, but I thought I wanted to try the food prepared by the aunts.Saturday, October 7thRyokan HondayaJapanese room 6 tatami mats1 night 2 people without mealsThere is a refrigeratorThere is a heating potSmall (full of tables and two sets of futons, not much space for luggage, there is a wide veranda, but it's small)There are no open outletsThe room lock is unique and difficult to open and close. There's only one keyThe entrance to the room is narrow (what do you do with slippers when you close the inner door?)Shakes when people pass by (like an earthquake)Sound leaksApples are floating (relaxing)Your skin feels smooth and comfortable in the hot springsFully tiled (retro feel)the faucet needs to be adjustedThe parking lot is gravel so you can't roll your carry case around. No elevatorThe range is on the first floor

I stayed here after climbing Namase Fuji.We had a relaxing stay at an inn with a Showa-era atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were good dishes that made use of local ingredients. This inn is recommended for people who want to spend a relaxing time.

It never changes. If you have a different perspective, it's better not to come to Showakan, but they don't have any problem with the Showa era itself, and they even bring you beer! Best for me!
