Stayed here as a lodging during my trip to Fukushima. A wonderful inn where you can experience the Showa era, which is rare these days. It's a facility that has been around for quite some time, so some parts of it are obviously old, but that's what makes it so good. All of the dinners were delicious, and even though I had been eating less rice recently, I found myself asking for second helpings. There are two types of baths for men: one with just the right amount of hot water and one with hot water, but I think the hot one is for Edo people lolFrom what I heard from my wife, it seems that the main thing for women was hot water, so it was difficult for them to take long baths. I think it would be a good idea to replace the bath or have a private time.

It's a nostalgic "The Ryokan"The building is old, the plumbing is well maintained, and the period furniture is well maintained, making you feel like you've traveled back in time. The meal was very delicious, the meat and rice served with a mildly seasoned simmered miso flavor. This time I arrived at night and left early in the morning, so next time I would like to spend a little more time in the room.

I was satisfied to have a taste of a typical Japanese hot spring ryokan. I would definitely visit again.-LocationI visited by train. It is a one-minute walk from the station. I had a carry-on bag and it was very close to the inn, which was very helpful.-RoomsThe rooms are very relaxing and cozy. You can see the river and birds from the window and feel the nature. It was a very cold day, but there was a heater to keep us warm.-The foodThe food was very good, elegant and luxurious, as you would expect from a Japanese hot spring ryokan. The quantity of food was sufficient. I especially liked “Ika Ninjin”.-The bathI was told that the baths were pure hot spring water, which is very precious. Since I was a small group, I was able to spend a quiet and relaxing time.-ServicesI felt that inns, in particular, are having a hard time dealing with pandemics. I could feel the inns' desire for us to spend our time in peace, such as thorough use of disinfectant and masks.-OthersThe furniture and buildings are old. Those seeking perfect facilities would be better off visiting a newer building. Those who are willing to take good care of the facilities along with the staff will have a comfortable stay, so this is the place to visit for such people.

It was a cool hot spring inn perfect for a solo trip by an old man born in the Showa era. The image is exactly what I remember of the local hot spring inns my parents took me to when I was a child. The location is along the Chika River from the station, so there is no open-air bath, but the indoor bath for men was spacious enough and fed by natural hot spring water. It was especially nice that the hot water in the bathtub didn't require adding water, so the scent remained. Since it is a union hot spring, the quality of the hot spring water is the same as the outside bath, but since it is only for hotel guests, the water is not rough and is extremely fresh.

This is a Showa era inn. There are retro games, Showa era stereos, and photos of stars from yesteryear. It may be inconvenient if you want a toilet in your room, but having a toilet in the hallway has the advantage that the source of the odor is physically far away. Also, the most important thing is the quality of the hot springs. This is a place where people who really like hot springs can relax and soak. Also, it's convenient for people taking the train as it's very close. Maybe I need to get used to driving a car? If you've used it even once, you're probably fine.
