I read an article in a magazine and was intrigued by it, so I made a reservation at Sokko. As a person from the Kanto region, I had no idea what the area was like, so I simply looked at Google 2D maps and thought, ``Well, I guess it's okay on roads with this many twists and turns.'' When I went there, I found myself in hell. Ta. Anyway, the road is narrow and steep, and there are a number of difficult spots where the bends are so steep that they cannot be seen on a map, and even with the steering of my beloved JB74 Jimny, I couldn't go around them in one go and had to turn around and finally make it up. There are places. It wasn't until I arrived at the parking lot and asked other customers that I found out that even if I was a skilled driver, it would be safer to ask for a shuttle if I was thinking about returning.💦There were only about 4 parking spaces, and it was 20 degrees on the valley side. You'll have to park on a slope of about 100 degrees, so just parking it will be scary. . . From there, we trekked down to the riverside where the inn was located, but there were also about 11 steep winding turns! Anyway, you'll be going down a steep slope that makes you wonder when you'll get there, so considering the return trip, it's best to choose a shuttle. From here, we passed in front of the shrine of Fudo Myoo, crossed a suspension bridge, and finally saw the rustic inn we were looking for and took a breath of relief. I conquered all of the hot springs except for the 4 open-air baths, 2 indoor baths, and the women's bath, but I personally thought that the open-air baths were the best solution as they had a more suitable temperature and a more liberating location. There is no doubt that everything will be healed by watching the starry sky at night, the blue sky in the morning, and the sound of the murmuring river and the roar of the waterfall. I was amazed when the special sashimi made from Yamame trout grown in the headwaters of the Mogami River, which I had pre-ordered for dinner, appeared! It's big, it's beautiful, and it's really delicious! ! I've never had a river fish sashimi that was so big, so refreshing, and so chewy! I truly thought it was worth coming here just to eat this sashimi. In addition to this, while drinking a glass of locally produced craft beer...the wonder of being able to experience a truly picture-perfect event became a memory that will last a lifetime (^O^) /Next time I will use the shuttle service without hesitation 💦

It takes about 20 minutes of walking along a very steep mountain path to arrive. It really feels like a secret hot spring deep in the mountains. There is a shuttle service from Yonezawa Station. There are many hairpin curves, and you have to turn your car around each time. The inn is built in a strange place on a rocky area.First of all, there is a hot spring. There are several open-air baths, so the amount of hot water does not seem to be very high. There are indoor baths, one for men and one for men, but they are small and nice. The spring quality is a very good sulfur spring. The room is a comfortable and relaxing room with two beds for single occupancy. There are a lot of stairs inside the building. The food was very delicious, using local wild vegetables and other ingredients. Because it's deep in the mountains, it was very quiet from night to morning, so I was able to take a good rest.

I'm coming to Yamagata. I was looking for a place to stay in a place that is known as a secret hot spring deep in the mountains, and I found this place. It takes about 40 minutes by car from Yonezawa Station and 20 minutes on foot from the private parking lot to arrive at the inn. There is a magnificent building along the river, and I wonder how it was built in such a place. When we arrived at the hotel, we were advised to go see a nearby waterfall. I like mountain climbing and rock climbing, so I was happy to go see it. I was able to reach the waterfall basin in about 10 minutes, but it seems like it usually takes about 30 minutes.Afterwards, we had a little time before dinner, so we took turns taking a few hot springs. There are plenty of open-air baths, and I was able to enjoy the various hot water levels, including the scenery.Meal starts at 6pm. Presumably all ingredients are locally sourced. I think it would be extremely difficult to transport materials to a place like this. . .The food itself may be traditional to Yamagata, but the presentation was so beautiful that it felt luxurious. For the first time in a while, I stayed at an inn where there was no internet, no TV, and no cell phones, and I was able to forget about everyday life and relax.

It was good. You can get a shuttle to the station. It took about 25 minutes to walk slowly from the parking lot to the hotel. The way out was downhill, but since I was taking photos, it didn't take much time to climb back up. I was able to make reservations for the open-air bath in 30 minute increments, so I was very happy to get in. The water was hot, so the soaking time was short. The shower in the indoor bath was almost unusable. The char sashimi was amazing and delicious.

It's a land of secret hot springs, and word of mouth said that the road from the city center to the inn was dangerous...I thought the road was narrow and that we might be able to pass each other, but my husband and I died on the trek...No. My muscles are smiling (lol) The going is good, but the return is scary...I feel like that. A quiet inn where you can forget about everyday life. All the staff are friendly and kind.

Of the eight Yonezawa hot springs, the most difficult are Ubayu Onsen and Odaira Onsen. Both are roads where you're like, ``What? Are you going this way?'' When there's an oncoming car, it gets clogged. If you are not confident with your bag, or if you are not confident in passing each other at the last minute, it is better to use the hotel's shuttle service. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the designated parking lot to the inn, all the way down an extremely steep slope. Thinking about climbing this hill on the way back makes me feel hopeless. It is said that there is no cell phone signal, but depending on the room, if you use au near the window, there is barely a line. The hot springs are clear and colorless, and are definitely a nice hot spring, but we recommend that you take a break and calm down once you arrive at your hotel before entering. If you go in right away, you might get so tired that you won't be able to move.Dinner is made from mountain produce and is extremely delicious. There are no shops or vending machines, so it's a good idea to stock up on late-night snacks and drinks in advance if you get hungry. As a hot spring lover, I get full marks, but I think it's a bit of a hurdle for amateurs.

I went with FF Vanette NV200. When I stopped at a sharp curve and tried to turn around, I almost got stuck, but I managed to make it to the parking lot. I think it would be better to have a 4WD when visiting. Also, if you are not confident in driving, it may be a good idea to ask your hotel to pick you up. After walking down a very steep slope from the parking lot to the inn for about 15 minutes, the inn building finally came into view. After checking in to the hotel, we headed to the hot springs we were looking for. The hot springs have two open-air baths for men and women, one for private use, and an indoor bath for men and women, all of which use calcium-sulfate spring water with a source temperature of 50 degrees Celsius. I was able to temporarily forget about the hustle and bustle of the world as I soaked in the hot water, ate delicious food, and spent some quiet time. There was no TV in the room and no cell phone signal, but if you had time and pockets, you'd want to stay there for several nights.

The area is quite difficult, so if you have never driven on mountain roads, it is best not to drive by yourself. I went by Alphard, but the road was very narrow. The room was simple and full of bugs, but that's how it is. Of course there is no TV and no cell phone connection. It's perfect for relaxing and reading a book without being disturbed. Also, the bespoke dish ``Special Sashimi of Yamame trout grown in the headwaters of the Mogami River'' (1400 yen) is delicious. You should definitely ask.

You may not be able to get there unless your car is a certain height. The section of the walk is quite steep. If you fall, you will be seriously injured. My cell phone doesn't work.Of course I can't connect to the internet. The sound of the waterfall is loud.Electricity is a generator. But everything is good.
