We planned a day trip to celebrate a birthday and decided to try Xoliel Spa for a change, having already visited the Tempat Senang day spa several times. The booking process was a bit unusual, managed entirely by Emily via WhatsApp from the US, but everything seemed in order, and our appointments were confirmed.Upon arrival, our pick-up was delayed, but we remained excited to enjoy the day. The spa itself seemed rather deserted and very quiet, which was a bit off-putting. As for the treatments, they were just okayānot the best we've had, but not the worst either. We were informed at the time of booking that lunch was included, so I assumed there would be a menu to choose from on the day. When we sat down for lunch, the food was served without choice or a menu. I don't eat meat, and when I tried to explain, the staff struggled to understand my need to verify whether the dish contained meat. My plate was taken back and then returned, but unfortunately, I realized too late that I had eaten meat. Although I don't have an allergy, it was still quite distressing. Emily was contacted, and to her credit, she sincerely apologized, explaining that the usual menu wasn't available due to staff shortages. However, the entire experience was quite upsetting and put a damper on the rest of our day.Emily offered a complimentary treatment for a future visit and a $25 refund for lunch, but I felt that this compensation fell short, given the impact it had on our special day. It ruined what was supposed to be a celebration, and I believe more could have been done to address the situation. In the end, we'll be sticking to Tempat Senang Spa in the future, where we've always had exceptional experiences. While Xoliel Spa appears to be aiming to replicate the success of Tempat Senang, it missed the mark in several key areas, including the welcome, facilities, treatments, and especially the dining experience.
