Fantastic Rooms aka classrooms they were very spacious. The scenery and night stars was so breath taking, and you could actually see all the stars in the night sky.The school has a very rich history in the community educating the youth as well as hosting several community events in the past such as carrying a portable shrine up a very steep stone staircase going up forward as well as going backward several time to the main shrine while everyone cheerful chanted. If you have time check-out the library on the second floor to see the many pictures of the times gone-by.It was great that the local community association has decided to up-keep the school and convert it into a Historical Place were guest and the locals can enjoy going "Back to the Future"But, It would have been great if I could get my hands on a "DeLorean" and land at the heliport there but I could find "Doc" house.Well, getting there you'll just need do it the old fashion way, just drive. But please beware you need to enjoy driving around very sharp winding roads were only one vehicle can pass. And if you are unfortunate and meet another vehicle head-on you'll need to find a safe location were you can pass each outer. But let me tell you that "It is worth the Drive up to Aruse Inn". It's a once in a lifetime experience that you'll seldom have an opportunely to enjoy any where here in Japan. So, I encourage you to get your driving gloves on, fill the gas tank up and drive on up to "Gakko no Yado Aruse" aka "Aruse Inn" ... If I could do it, so can "You". Like Dory would chant " Just keep on driving, driving, driving... Just keep on driving, turning, driving... Just keep on driving, driving, driving... Oh back-up back-up back-up... “Driving tips - while driving lookout for the small wooden signs pointing the way to "Aruse" and I highly recommend that you bring along someone to give you encouragement as well as help you navigate, and read the signage as you zip along the way. And don't forget to bring your own snacks, drinks and food for your adventure.

The roads around here are narrow! There are also limited places to face each other. However, the school near the top of the mountain is like a castle in the sky!I went to an elementary school for the first time in decades. There was a sense of nostalgia. And being alone in a large classroom feels extremely luxurious. The toilets are also clean. The problem is that the hallway is right next to it, so you can hear people talking.Even that kind of noise felt comforting.

This facility uses the former Aruse Elementary School (closed), but is currently closed.Above the schoolyard is a tea plantation, and above is Sanbe Shrine. Personally, Sanbe Shrine had an interesting presence.

There are 3 Japanese-style rooms and 1 Western-style room, and we stayed in the 6th grade room, which is the only Western-style room!First of all, we recommend that someone who is reasonably good at driving and is used to mountain roads get behind the wheel. I headed there casually, but ended up screaming along the way, thinking, ``What, are we going to pass here? Really? Are we really here? Are we insane?! We're going to die!'' It's a road that can barely accommodate a regular car, with shelters here and there. No joke, there was only one car left, so we passed each other twice on the way there, but once I had to back up to the shelter. I thought I was going to die. I have attached a video of the descent taken by a fellow passenger for your reference. The room itself was the size of an entire classroom, so it was spacious enough to have more than enough luggage to spread out, and every corner was clean and comfortable. However, since it is deep in the mountains, people who are afraid of insects should be careful. A lot of cute fluffy moths stick to the window. My grandparents were also good people, and when I think about how they keep my room clean and make my bed, I gradually find myself doing it myself! I feel like... lolThe cornerstone of this school building was laid in 1989, and I heard that it was only used for about five years, so I think it's a wonderful way to use it. I hope that my grandfather and grandmother will continue to do so as long as it is within their means.I stayed there in mid-May and heard that they already had a lot of reservations for Obon. It seems to be crowded during long holidays, so we recommend making reservations early.Thank you for the wonderful experience! !

I really feel the ``spirituality'' of the people of Arise. You can visit the elementary school (the gymnasium is reserved), and depending on the season, you can also enjoy various nature experiences.I think you will make memories that will last a lifetime. This is by no means an exaggeration.
