A terrific onsen with a great view and peaceful setting. The staff are top notch and very friendly. Our dinner last night was fantastic with multiple courses, and items featuring local fish and vegetables. One must partake in the outdoor onsen with the self piloted cable car. It’s very cool and the outdoor setting is serene.

We stayed here as part of our Shikoku cycling tour. After a decent day of riding: 50 miles with 4,600 feet of climbing ( on regular bikes, though two in our party had e bikes), the outdoor onsen beckoned.Driving your own cable car up and back. How cool is that? Our room is large by Japanese standards. And hey check out the self opening toilet seat when you enter the toilet room.Very friendly staff too.

We stayed during the rainy season when the hydrangeas were beautiful. The room is very beautiful and clean, and you can enjoy a relaxing view of the greenery from all the windows. For meals, you can enjoy local cuisine and Tokushima ingredients such as Iya zosui, Iya soba, Dekomawashi, salt-grilled sweetfish, grilled Awao chicken, and Naruto Kintoki. The public bath is on the third floor and the bathtub is about 6 tatami mats in size. The open-air bath was climbed by cable car while looking at the hydrangeas. It's called the Sky Open-air Bath, and you can enjoy the smooth quality of the water while looking out at the mountains. There are two washing areas (with showers) in the open-air bath. There was a small room of about 2 tatami mats that looked like a rest area on the open-air grounds. There was a bath room (a room with a hearth) right next to the cable car platform, and we went out to the veranda or backyard and enjoyed the cold water while enjoying the natural breeze. The staff were kind and polite, and it was a very nice inn.We were able to take out [Dekomawashi] from the restaurant in front of the inn and enjoy Iya cuisine.

At the dining hall, I was surprised to see that the large insects that were flying around during dinner were also actively flying around during breakfast. Some guests stopped eating last night and went back to their rooms, but did they leave it there until morning? .I was even more surprised when a customer complained and answered with a smile that they were in the countryside. The open-air bath and the night tour by bus were nice, but was there a construction office in front of the hotel? Material storage? I can't see the river.Unfortunately, I had chosen a hotel along the river, hoping for a nice view.
