Honestly, I didn't think it was possible to pay so much for such horrible accommodation. 5 "bungalows" (in fact containers) surrounding a kind of common park as impersonal as possible, where there is a campfire area and a barbecue, all at the edge of a national road, and opposite a station essence. Fully automated check in/check out without any human contact. We pay a half-board rate, but ultimately we just have meat and vegetables in the fridge, to grill and cook ourselves. Impossible to use the common barbecue decently because it is literally stuck to a bungalow and would therefore completely smoke out the people staying there. 0 restaurants nearby as the location is 2km from the center of Chikatsuyu village. We had a terrace above the bungalow, allowing us to have a superb view of the highway and the gas station, and to breathe the very polluted air from the cars passing there. We sleep to the sound of the engines (you can hear it really well from inside) and the bungalow shakes as the trucks pass: charming.Interesting interior facilities that said, and rather clean (except for the mold in the toilets)In total: totally crazy quality/price ratio (and not in a good way), to avoid if you want a moment of rest in the countryside.

When I was looking for a place to stay with my dog during the summer, I found it on Instagram and immediately booked it. There are only a few YouTube videos, so I looked forward to my stay by referring to the official videos and videos uploaded by other people. I'm glad I ended up here.It was possible to make pizza from pizza dough, but I wanted to take it slow and didn't have time to let the dough rest, so I made pizza only with frozen dough and baked it in a pot. The children had the opportunity to add firewood, raise the temperature, and bake in a pizza oven for the first time, and it was both delicious and fun. The room was clean and the private dog run was just the right size for my small dog, who enjoyed chasing the grasshopper that came to visit. Even in the summer, the wind was blowing, and the air from the indoor air conditioner leaked through the screen door, making it perfect for enjoying the BBQ. The next morning, after checking out, we played in the river, relaxed, and headed home at noon. Even at night, there were motorbikes and cars passing by on the road in front of the inn, but not as much as during the day, so I was able to relax in the garden while listening to the insects.

Incredible experience! It was exactly what I wanted after walking the Kumano Kodo for the first day. The room was full of surprises- the dessert on the table is free, the sake, beer, and juice in the fridge was also free. I felt like home. Even the check-in was automatic, I felt welcomed. ありがとうございました😊

It was used by two owners with a dog.All alcohol and soft drinks were available, and the space was clean and comfortable.I'm thankful for the washer/dryer so I can wash my clothes and go home.Pizza baking experience and bonfire are all provided so you don't have to bring anything. Not an inn, not a pension, not glamping, not a vacation rental. It's like renting a model house and having fun in the private garden. If I had to say it, I think 5,000 yen for a small non-barking, non-shedding dog is a bit expensive. It's aboutThere is no TV, but a projector is provided for you to enjoy.I would like to use it againI think it would be good to stay for several nights.

Where do I begin. Luckily booked this place when the other most popular lodging I stayed at before was full. First off, I am amazed people do not read the reviews and realize meals need to be self prepared. This is essentially a high end glamping experience. This has been an exceptional experience for what I have paid. A stones throw away is a nice little supermarket, restaurants and bakery (check the opening closing times in advance. The main courtyard has a fire pit and a pizza oven to the side. The unit we stayed in has so many nice thoughtful features as seen in the photos (gadgets galore). Manual drip coffee, grinder and wonderful roasted beans. Auto temp bath tub fill, temp maintain etc. Room rate included craft beer, local juices, ingredients for yakiniku and pizza (ready made frozen pizza bread, or flour, yeast etc if you want to make your own!). They even provided four mini croissants and bread slices if you want more food, on top of included breakfast at a nearby cafe. Unfortunately have an early start to hike so we need to skip the cafe.Tip: If you want higher quality ingredients like more tender wagyu cuts of beef for your yakiniku, visit the supermarket across the street. Prices are very reasonable.

Stylish design & appearance, situated in beautiful Chikatsuyu for those walking the Kumano Kodo trek. This accommodations are shipping containers that have been creatively designed as beautiful, very comfortable and functional stay. This clean facility has everything comfy beds, Air cond, laundry, great bathroom with great hotwater & pressure, amazing food for you to cook with alcoholic & non alcoh drinks, even supply marshmallows and skewers for roasting on fire pit or pizza oven.Fantastic courtyard which has a covered area.Across the road are some shops & a great supermarket and if you have a car free parking.Bus stops are a 2 minute walk and a bus schedule can be obtained at KK info.Only downside is it right besides a road and roadside noise maybe an issue for light sleepers, especially early morning.

I saw a lot of bad reviews so I did not expect too much before arriving. It turned out that it worth the money at least for me. I had good sleep after first day of Kumano Kodo hike.10/10 for cleanliness.10/10 for atmosphere.

Firstly, if you don’t want to cook your own dinner this place (and possibly area) is not for you. Everything closes very early and if you choose the dinner plan, you have to cook it yourself. The amenities in the room itself are nice, but I don’t think they make up for the place itself feeling quite overpriced. Personally I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you have no other options.
